I think you can believe that SMG could have physically developed into what Alicia looked like. I mean they look enough alike to be the same person, but different enough that there could have been some years of development.

I thought it was much better when Sarah Michelle Gellar was on the show. Having seen her portraying Kendall as terrifically as she did, I think it's hard to get used to the idea of another actress playing the part. For me, Sarah Michelle Gellar will always be the best one.
@PurpleStar91 SMG did well as Kendall but my belief is Alicia Minshew added so many more layers to the character. Whereas SMG's Kendall spent much time being bitter and angry, Alicia Minshew's still has the scheming side to her but she's also a mother, a wife, a friend, and more. Not to mention Alicia has chemistry with virtually everyone on the canvas.
We do agree, though, how SMG did wonderful as Kendall. We just disagree on who is better.

The scripts back then were written to show Kendall as a scheming and bitter character since that was basically the point of that plot line at the time. If Alicia Minshew had played Kendall back then instead of SMG, I doubt she could have done it much differently, and I don't think her portrayal had been better than Gellar's.

@HnHBlkM that is why they had to rework it since she was supposed to be in her mid 20s and did not look it...all in all, that's probably the show's best ever rewritten story due to how they had to alter Erica's history in a big way

Obviously now they are on great terms and it's great to see them doing so well. I never would have predicted this time ten or so years ago her and Kendall as a mother/daughter team who love each other.
This slap was more based on Erica doing that to anyone she disliked-at this time, there was still much resentment between her and Kendall

That's why they made it out to seem as if they were the biggest of enemies. Still, they weren't close at the time they met again in January/2002. When I say "good terms", it's in respect to two people being civilized. That was never possible from 95 to this scene in the courthouse.

that they brought SMG back before the show ended as a paitent and she kept saying " I'm Erica's Daughter "
or something like that as if they could've done a S/L where someone took Kendell's identity but I think it was best that they didn't do that .
