  • Thanks adjusterfrank

  • I've been changing it for 8 months now. Will u take a look and least tell me it looks ok. My other half tells me if I would go a day without moving something around ill get use to it. Most the time she's right ill never admit it to her though. Thanks adjusterfrank

  • @4thGloryMonday - Well, I watched all your videos. Sorry to see you lost your clown fishes. That really had to suck!. As for the rock scape, you need to picture what you would like the tank to look like. Then, try to recreate it. When my wife and I made the scape we started with a basic vision and then used the rocks to make it happen. Even though we changed it several times. We always stuck to the two separate structures. Mabe U should have the wife change the rocks. lol. Good Luck!

  • Awesome aquascaping man wish I could get mine to look like that. Enjoyed the vid

  • @4thGloryMonday - You can. Just keep changing it until it pleases you. That's what my wife and I did. It will get there in time!!

  • hideous layout, just hope the corals , inverts etc cover smother it completely to make up for it

  • Sweet!! i am looking into buying live rock. now i know where to go. Thanks!

Oh and im new to all this. just picked up my tank, stand, lighting and some sand. gonna start on the sump next week.

  • Really like the aquascape man. The double island look is great

  • @MrToony1 - Thanks for the nice comments.

  • I like the dual cave on the island. What refug light are you using? How many socks do nyou have for backup? All in All very nice.

  • @jbliss2000007 The light is a coralife dual with a 10,000 daylight and an actinic bulb. They work together. I currently have 2 200micron socks. I am cleaning the socks quite a bit right now due to the debris from the die off. I actually just changed out the sock so every two days. So... one for back up.

  • You are on your way to having a very well maintained and thriving system my friend. Remember the only thing that happens fast in this hobby is PROBLEMS lol! Keep taking your time and enjoy each step of building a kick ass reef system! Nice scape too :)

  • @admirehomes Thanks for the comments. I am trying to put the best possible system together for myself and my family.

I have changed the scape again. I have been having slight difficulties uploading the video. It should be up in a bit.

  • Looks good bro! Damn! tons of people are into this hobby! You've got ALOT of interest...Holy Cow! But I think it's also 'cuz you do this so well. Just like everything you do! Good job!

  • @nuticket Thanks for the accolades on my video and set up. Hope everything is going well in CO. Put up some more crazy vids for me to watch. lol

  • L@@king good mate. Look forward to seeing life in your tank all the best.

  • @Chrisl6069 Thanks, I think that my Tang is tired of being in the 36g tank. He will be happy too.

  • The GFO - Granular Ferric Oxide helps to remove the phosphate from the water column. Phosphates are usually to blame for outbreaks of algae. The carbon is to clarify the water.

I am glad that you like the videos and they have helped you with your system. I have also learned a great amount form Steelo and continue to watch his videos over and over. DA is returning my modules and they were not damaged as I thought. There will be additional vids on the RKE.

I subbed and watched. Nice channel.

  • You have changed my mind about the reefkeeper light kit I planned on using it when I got my 100gallon+ tank but will set it up on my smaller tank (45g); now my question is I saw the gfo system and carbon will you hook that up to the system above and how and what exactly is that gfo stuff? I watch plenty of your videos and newyorksteelo now im into the asking question indepth phase cause my second tank is almost to the point of supporting life! Your videos are great will be tuning in often!!!

  • I like how you show the good and the bad on this hobby.

  • @Rolandofishtank Thanks. I appreciate that you like my videos and channel. I decided to make my videos this way because at first all I found was good and great system video's and how they were wonderful. I wanted everyone to see my process good and bad. However, the bad for me is making my system what it is today. Thanks again for the comments.

  • that deco rock is awesome stuff

  • @zacguitarshreder12 Thanks for the comments and watching. I have already seen worms, feathers and copepods (i think) around in the tank. This has been money well spent.

  • Great videos! Keep them coming. Very cool of you to shoutout other reefers.

  • @MrReefman3000 Thanks for the nice comments. Glad that you like my channel.

  • I think that 30 gal tank shoud be anough for you dude...I have a 10 gal as a sump and trust me that's fucking mall.,every single change I do in my sump it has to be very well planed..

  • @karlek110188 I knew that the 30g was big enough for the system. I just wanted to go bigger if I was able to. Also because the footprint of the skimmer is soooo big.

    Thanks

  • looking good frank. look forward to your next vid

  • @djdoggiedog Thank You. I am glad that you like the videos.

  • @djdoggiedog Thanks. I hope to make another video this weekend. By the way, I can already see worms and Possible shrimp like organisms when the light are off and I shine a flashlight in the tank. Very cool.

  • Dude that looks great man.....LOL on the shout out........gotta get some things from brs so im gonna get in on that group buy......o ya by the way, Frank im glad to see your on your way........haha

  • @jwalker43081 Thanks. No worries on the shout out. I am glad you are getting in on the BRS buy. I think that we still are short some people. Hopefully, this weekend we will get some more.

  • COOL MAN looks real good. cant wait to see it with some corals. good job !!

  • @my1941willys It took so long to get to this point I can't even think of the corals. Lol Joking

  • looks f-ing sweet man cant wait to see the tank in 2 months

  • @TheSharkchum Haha. Thanks! I appreciate the nice words. Hopefully, I will be on the road a bit less to the progress will be a bit faster and more videos.

  • awesome vid great job looks awesome. to bad i cant get 10% off im going w the manado..

  • @psuhurdler Lol. I was going to go with that but I didn't want to wait for the special order. After receiving the Cherry Premo Deco, I am glad that I ordered this rock.

  • Nice aquascape bro. The tank is looking awesome, keep up the good work this is the best hobby!!!!! :)

  • @Rolandofishtank I agree. Thanks for the accolades!

  • that big rock on the right side doesnt look natural

  • @pbmaniac2009 Well, I really don't know what to say about that. The rock has many soft corals on it. There are many clam shells embedded into the rock. There are quite a few whit coral skeletons on the rock.

After watching the video back, I think that the color was really poor. I will try making another video with better color or filters to truly show the rock.

  • @adjusterfrank i meant the way the larger rock was on top of a smaller few, looks a little awkward

  • @pbmaniac2009 Oh, Sorry. I misunderstood. I agree on the placement of that rock. The rock has a lot of growth and didn't really work on the bottom of the pile. I really stressed over the placement of all the rocks. I knew that I wanted two structures but it was very hard with the bow and the overflow in the corner. I might make some small changes. I also need to decide if I am going to add more rock or not.

    Thanks

  • what's the size of your sump tank?

  • @karlek110188 The sump is a 30g tank. 36*16*12. For this sump the 1st stage is 1" wider than the last one (13") to accommodate the skimmer better. It's still a tight fit. I struggled with this cuz I wanted the 40 breeder but there just wouldn't have been enough room in my cabinet.

  • Looks great, liking the branching rock....

  • @johnnykat21 I thought so also, However it was a bit difficult to position.

  • Leave skimmer on buddy, there be lots of died stuff on your rocks, skimmer take all waste out off your water buddy. I am sure you all ready know that, keep doing what your doing great job.

  • @dm002a8686 Thanks for the accolades, Skimmer is running 100%!

  • coral reef aquariums for beginners jbliss wat? what's with the message for 1 frame at 6:31

  • @gprime22 Lolhahahah, You caught it! I had another one in there but you must not have seen it.

You probably didn't know this but in the old days the movies had 1 or 2 frame "Coke, popcorn, candy" blurbs to get us to get up and buy at the concessions? You will have to watch again.

It was a shout out to a couple of different subscribers of mine. With out the shout.

  • @adjusterfrank i say the one that said "saltwater aquariums r us" but that was it

  • rocks are lookin good! i cant wait till i can make mine look that amazing!

  • @JDStarm Hey Bro your alive! Glad to hear from ya. I can not and will not take the credit for the rock. I just take credit in being dumb enough to pay for rock in the first place. Haha

  • NIce Intro...thats all i have to say... nice scape-- turn off your skimmer there is nothing to skimm...you have no bio waste...yet.. aka fishes...also you should see the how to aqua scape vid from newyorksteelo he has good stuff in his vids

LASTLY holaaaaaaaaaa at the shout out super thanks brotha

  • @UstadZed Glad you liked the video. I have watched all of Steelos videos many times. Also, there is a bio load as the die off from the Live rock. The skimmer is working great and will be staying on for 24hrs. Revisit Steelo's vids. They will have the answers that you seek!

No worries with the shout out.

  • @adjusterfrank actually i forgot about the die off... my fault.. ur correct in leaving it on ..

  • @UstadZed Thanks!

  • Looking good! Now comes the testing to see when the cycle is complete. Enjoy your rock and tank!

  • @moneymarkj Thanks Bro. Did you miss the subliminal message?

  • @adjusterfrank ???? Are you referring to you taking your time and being in no rush?

  • @moneymarkj Haha. No. Shortly after the Jwalker caption, there are two additional captions that are very, very short. There are names in the captions.

  • SWEET The best video you have made yet!!! Aqua scape looks awesome and the intro man loved it! Great job. Get that tank cycled now and show us the stocking!

  • @eyesonyou2ube Haha, I am glad you liked the video. I am working on making the videos better. Just takes more time. Hey, Nice job on the fire ants by the way.

  • @adjusterfrank Haha yeah those darn fire ants if one creature could be eradicated from this world that I wouldnt be upset about would be them. I would rather be stung by a bee! Wish I had the rock you do I am getting sick of my grey rock look might have to make some with white cement!

  • Awesome Aquascape & Intro!

  • @Rfritz09 Thanks for the accolades. Glad you liked it.

  • Love your aquascape buddy well done, love the intro to.

  • @dm002a8686 I'm glad you like the video. I wanted a dramatic intro as this process has taken a long time. Lol.

The aquascape was a bit difficult for me as I kept changing it. Part of my OCD. lol

  • hey man great video. I'm gonna check out Ustad zed like you said and see what he is doing. I have a thirty gallon saltwater reef tank and I'm about to start a 75 gallon, so any hints or ideas is what I'm looking for so thank you very much for your time in making these videos.

  • @bighbear6789 Thanks for watching and the comments. The ideas will come to you while watching others videos and in the planning process. Hint, Don't do as I did and keep making changes. It costs additional money every time I think of something else. Try planning the system out ahead of time to avoid major changes. Small ones will be part of the process.

For my 36g build I will be making sure that I purchase all items first. Then, take your time and have fun!

  • Your cycle is likely going to take longer. There is a lot of die off on the rock (being held up at customs didn't help ;) Tank is going to be awesome.

  • Love the scape. Lots of coral placing options.

  • @krug1313 Thanks for the comments. I was trying to give some shelves along with Hi and Low areas for any future corals.

As for the cycle, Bill at Live Rock N Reef says that the cycle is still only 2 weeks due to the quality of the rock. I agree with you statement however; we will see and I will keep u posted. I am in no hurry. Lol
