  • 4 real

  • Awesome collection of photos too!

  • I have taken this title inspired by the heavenly manics and named my loo after this song!

  • love this song. I just remember sitting as a teenager learning the intro on the guitar. I used to love it. After listening to this song now, I still do!

The song really sums up the human condition. - just let me be.

  • its so easy to love nikki minaj when u never lived the 90s...

  • Stunning song. One of my favourites ever.

  • this is the song of my angsty youth, now I'm 27 and I can look back on those times with a bittersweet smile

  • the song is about whatever you want it to be about! :)

  • my 1st fav band

  • This song makes me cry all the time. It it's like one of those songs that make you realise how pointless you are.

The Lyrics are really good, such as "I'm sick of being sick ...I'm tired of being tired(ect)" and "My idealogy it is dead and gone" <3

I really love Nicky's backing vocals contrasting with James' singing. Beautiful.

  • i love this song so much :)

  • Thank you - x

  • This song has one of the best opening guitar riffs.

  • @chopshop85 Totally agree. Even though the Manics have been out of my life for many years now, that riff lingers.

  • The song is so simple, child-like, repetitive, but still great. Perfect lyrics and vocals helps a lot.

  • "mor ve ötesi - kış geliyor"

haha It actually is, I know mor ve otesi quite well, I aint got round to listening to manic street preachers yet, I think I will have to!

  • "mor ve ötesi - kış geliyor" :)

  • " mor ve ötesi - kış geliyor " :)

  • Good Call, great track.

  • Yeah, the intro is one of my all time favorites.

  • i love this intro, its brilliant.

  • 1:28 lolz

  • Long Live Manic Street Preachers

    All Four Of Them

  • beautiful

  • Oh god...this just feeds an empty sad spot in my heart!!

  • I've always maintained that James deserves some considerable accolades for his guitar mastery. This song oozes melancholy!

  • @NoDebut

Yeah, he always manages to make the music echo the sentiment and emotions of the lyrics perfectly, which is something he never gets enough credit for.

  • AH... the guitar man, the intro...ffffff Amazing.

  • The intro reminds me of the Chili Peppers.

  • mega track from a mega album created by a mega band

  • my fav manic song i use to play it on cd walkman when i was 16 when i was in a fucked up place in my head

  • why, what was u, gay?

  • wtf are you on about

im gay coz i like the manics?

    fuck off

  • what happened to richie?

  • Hey this is a compressed version. Richey went missing in February 1994. A day before he and James were to leave for the US he randomly checked out of his hotel and apparently drove to his flat. 2 weeks later his car was declared abandoned at a service station by the Severn Bridge. He's never be seen since. Some say he took his own life, others say he simply wanted to get away. I hope where ever he is he's happy.

  • All correct except that it happened in 1995

  • Woops. Thanks for the correction :)

  • stop being queer

  • Hehe... I was about to turn 14 when this one came out - and I've been in love ever since! :-)

One of those songs I could listen to for hours on end. Memories!

  • This song makes me feel 12 and 13 again :)

God I loved this band so much

  • Makes me feel alive...

...manics are the best existing Band ( for me ).

  • youth

  • I like the pictures.

I like the Audio Preview as well.

  • I really did enjoy all the old manics but I really hate the new stuff they now play, this was there last good album in my view. Anyway think ill make a cover version of this song soon on guitar for youtube as its a classic song

  • U really think that? Ionno, Send Away The Tigers was really a nice album, even the Lennon cover was koo..

But this is my fav. Manics song <3

  • yeah send away the tigers is great but the only things stopping it being one of my favorites are your love alone and autumnsong those songs ruin it.

  • Great song, once left this on repeat all night when we finally crashed out in a mates caravan & the other lads woke up demented after 80 subconscious listens ha ha. thanks for uploading

  • what a quality intro to a quality song..seen them finally for the first time in oxegen 08 and they were my favourite act over the weekend,,fcukin brilliant..

  • Superb, especially at full blast at 3am, so fab

  • Great Song Love It

  • Great song 5 star

  • i love this song. havent heard it in ages. thank you for uploading!

  • thank you so much for uploading this!

  • I adore this song.

  • the best little empire intro ever

  • i love the start...wow!

  • bored of being bored...

  • my favourite song of theirs.

    my favourite band.

  • The whole song is very complete - the cello is mixed really well....one of their absolute best recorded moments. Thanks for putting it up X

  • yeah, they tried a lot of things through their career, but this minimalistic song [or is it?] is just...immaculate.

    Greatness.

  • such a great song.....=(

  • such a great guitar intro.

  • im fucked with being fucked

  • omg i love this pic at 1.23!! :D he looks mystereious!! :D

  • I like these guys...thank you for sharing.

  • i fall in love at 1.30

see i'm not the only one :)

    this is cool. thanks :)

  • jeez ive waited for ages for this song to get uploaded...nice one

  • James 3.25 *swoons*

great video by the way :D

  • haha yeah, at 0.08 my first thought wouldn't exactly be "urgh" either. more like "now how to keep them here while i fetch the champagne and oysters...?"

christ, it really is people like me who make some bands uncomfortable with fame lol

    in love at 01.30...

  • "hmmm... the cuban revolution... or vacuuming" lmao yeah it's good that we have a songwriter where there can be that kind of confusion. i'd say that that kind of ambiguity is pretty unique. go nicky wire!

  • *pauses at 01.30 and drools copiously*

lol at 2.05, look at the size of the box sean is standing on compared to richey, he's still not as tall.

and there's some really deep backing vocals here, i'm sure that can't be james dean bradfield...

anyway, enough of my neurotic obsessiveness.

    nice video and nice song!

  • The backing vocals are Nicky Wire.

    And thanks for your comment

1.30.....wow, and i had never noticed the boxes..haha

  • Thats interesting!!Just that I know they have Socialist leanings and have performed in Cuba, jus t that i used to listen to this song all the time when reading about the revolution, its so fitting about Castro +Guevara, like the words"sick of being sick"Guevara was constantly struggling with asthma,am sure am way off with this but as I said its so suited for it!!Its a tribute to a band that we can have debates about their lyrics esp in todays Coldplay middle of the road enviromeant!!

  • Any body know what this song is about??Have always thought it was about the cuban revolution!!Just think the song souds like a soundtrack for it,am probably way off thou!!

  • Someone told me that it was about Nicky, and his little house, and his feelings I guess. I don't suppose anyone can really know what its about (except Nicky), and it probably has a couple of meanings. Not knowing much about the cuban revolution myself you could be spot on with your idea.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

    :D

  • i heard it was about nicky wire sitting at home in his (exceptionally dustmite-free) home, but your theory is pretty plausible too.

    hmmm... la revolución... or vacuuming...

knowing nicky wire, it's possibly both.

now that's ambiguity for you lol you can't say he's not multi-faceted.

  • @celticlegg - I think it's about the self-isolating, self-inflating, pointless and miserable delusional-ego that is in constant denial of its own painfully obvious misery and destructiveness. So in a nutshell, the song is about habitual denial. Hence, "I'm happy being sad" and "All my violence, it does not exist." He is using "sad" here to mean not "melancholy" or "blue," but "pitiful" and "pathetic." This is a very Buddhist song, actually.

  • nice one! brilliant song, brilliant pictures.

i love anyone who posts all the b sides and stuff that aren't on lipstick traces that i'd never otherwise hear, cos there's some really good ones.

lol at 00.08, my first thought wouldn't be 'urgh', believe me...

  • thanks, it really is a great song.

i know what you mean about 00.08.

my reaction would have been more like -'ooft'

i dont know who wrote that on their...were they even looking at the picture?

  • Cool Thanks for posting

  • Great song. TIMTTMY was very underrated.

  • Sweeeeeet! Bout time this was on Youtube!
