@Cazkumali I wouldnt know exactly, as im not based up north. I know there is overcrowding problems with them, and likely the government will improve this via its project based on building more coaches for companies. When is a mystery still, although they have committed to this. Its a matter of time till the new coaches arrive.

The 185s are only three car with a plan to extend them to 4 car

All the leccy dessies are at least 4 car

@ashita100 According to Wikipedia, They were going to extend them to four cars to increase capacity but because the Liverpool to Manchester line is going to be ellectricified in a couple of years, it means that the FTPE services on the WCML from Liverpool to Glasgow and Edinburgh are going to be operated by Class 350 EMU's. I assume this means that they will be using the 185's currently used on these services and either running additional services or doubling up the 185's at peak times.

and seeing as the 35o is essentialy the electric version of the 185 its a no brainer

however it leaves the question of what will dft do with em after that?

and the question of why they were only buitl as 3 cars hasnt been asnwered either?
