Eric Volz is innocent...any intelligent person can see that there was no evidence linking him to the crime. This was all about the politics. Eric Volz case was much more than just a murder. The government had SAM-7 missiles and they thought that having an american in custody would be some help to them while America was basically telling them to get rid of the missiles. The guilty verdict came from the government..not the judge. Its a prime example of all of the corruption in Nicaragua!!!

I have several comments to make about this video. First, I don't blame the Nicaraguans for thinking Americans are arrogant pricks - just look at the comments below, and after Abu Ghraib these fears about Americans are justified. They probably brought him big pants because Americans are usually so fat - no favor goes uncriticized. He kept saying that the Doris was nothing serious howevr, he rented an apartment for her. Apology accepted. I was born in Nicaragua. It is a beautiful country, maybe the most beautiful of Central America, but the justice system is a joke. I know there is no perfect system, I'm a Sheriff after all! But you are right. Pople need to keep to themself when they visit there. I don't know if you have visited Nicaragua or not. I have and I avoid anybody that looks like a bad guy to me. Eric here knows them, why would a U.S citizen get to konw these people. If you hang aroud bad people, bad things are bound to happen to you. I thing the Doris' mother was paid money. I am a Nicaraguan born and I must say that all Nicaraguans, at least those of us with education and objective minds should render apologies to the Volz family. This young man is innocent, but the ignorance that has reigned in Nicaragua was the cause of this young man's wrongful conviction. I am glad that he was able to go free, as there is no evidence of his guilt. May Doris rest in peace and may the real killers be found.

I am a Nicaraguan Born. I have a Paralegal Degree and 10 years or working experience. If you think this guy is completely innocent, you are wrong. He is guilty of something. He knows more that what he claims. He said that Doris was not a serious girlfriend, however, he rented an appartment for her and move her out of her house. That sounds like something serious to me. Take a look at the way he avoids eye contact when he is responding. I could go on and on. He is definitely lying.
