For people who are worried about Jr., I think what he needs to focus on doing for the next 4 weeks is just finishing the race, and he'll make the chase. If Jr. can win at all, that's great for him, but he just needs to make it to the end. He's got plenty of a lead on Denny Hamlin, and Hamlin's really starting to choke.
i dont blame jr for being pissed off the 88 car use to be the 25 car which also use to be basicly the test cars for gordon or johnson this car history is basicly fucked up that hendrick concentrates 99 percent to gordon and johnson and .50 percent to earnhardt jr and .50 percent to martin dont believe me just ken shredder
I love how since 2005 it is never Jr's fault. Jr fans say it's Hendrick's fault because he gives him shit to drive and it's Lance's fault because Lance has no idea how to set up the car. Few years ago, it was Teresa's fault for being a terrible owner, Mikey's fault for being a crappy teammate, and Tony Jr.'s fault for always fighting with Jr. Is Jr. ever at fault for running terrible?
@friskycurtain I'd be willing to blame the driver more if historically the car/team he was on wasn't complete garbage. Not since Tim Richmond has the 25 car (which is the 88) done anything worth noting. People need to be asking what happened in Aug. of 2008, because before then, the 88 was in the top 5 in points and led over 800 laps. Me thinks it was Darian Grubb tuning the car and then Hendrick let him go to his "other" team: the 14.
A little history on the 88 car. It used to be the 25 car which has won a whopping 7 races in the last 20 years. This car/team is garbage so it's no surprise that Jr isn't doing worth a damn over there. Before someone comments on equipment, everyone has the same equipment at this level, what is not equal is the engineers that put that equipment together. I don't blame Jr at all for being pissed that he's driving a POS every week.
@McCall72 yes sir, and people forget that he lost his best engineer on the team shortly after he joined Hendrick.. that engineer? Darian Grubb, crew chief of the #14 car.
Can someone tell me why this is so bad? He was expressing how he felt. It was a long hard fought day and he was done, plain and simple. From now on everytime I hear people saying nasty things about their jobs (which happens everyday btw) I'm gonna question them on their dedication and drive! What's good for the goose I say!
@kingpinmotorsports Rick is probably losing more money keeping JR., but he signed a five year contract with HMS, so Hendrick can't really fire him. Although, crew chiefs have been swapped, crew members have been swapped, and the only thing left to swap is the driver, and even Jr. knows that. NASCAR is not going to be happy with this interview, Rick certainly won't be, and neither will the crew, because there's nothing more disappointing than hearing your driver say he just doesn't care...

@JoeCamel23RedDog8 He needs to leave Hendrick. It is clear Rick Hendrick only cares about the money with him, time to leave.
