@beatjugglez The Kontrol S4 has a built-in audio 4 soundcard so you can use it as the interface for time coded vinyls/cdjs etc. without the need for an extra soundcard/interface.

Can someone tell me if you can use the virtual vinyls purely in combination with the s4, or do you still need Scratch (pro) to use those? So is the S4 only live input if you connect your turntables, or are you able to use them as virtual platters in Traktor?

@Katchouken You need the scratch pro upgrade, Tp2 and Ts4 dont allow DAW inputs, if you have the S4 i think the upgrade kit to get Scratch Pro is only 200 bucks. Check the NI website for all the info.

@Inkv7 Generally they are tapping the cue button a few times before the play button to get themselves in time and so they press play bang on time. In this case though it's more complicated and related to hot cues within the software but for the standard button tapping you see generally, it's basically just so they press play in time. ;) Think of a drummer clicking sticks to start a band, sometime similar.
