Long way round was so optimistic. It was like a grand adventure that just unfolded as they went along and very unorthodox and gripping to watch. This definitely feels more like a scripted tv show, with them worrying so much about getting through it instead of enjoying the moment.

Must say I remain surprised that they were planning this trip for 6 months and didn't realize the daily distances they were contemplating or didn't account for weather disruptions? In LWR you could anticipate bad roads/trails in Kaz or Mongolia or Far East Russia, but Europe roads ought to be solid, at least. I'm a little confused about their preparations.

Not going to comment on that stupid succubus for now. But for those who don't ride long distance, high speed & long distance riding is very noisy (no matter what helmet you wear) and tiring when you keep hearing the stupid wind noise that's why lots of riders wear ear plugs. Using ipods on long rides is brilliant; I do that myself. Its almost similar to having your cd/radio on in the car.

15 years later, they just got divorced and have to daughters, who are now pretty fucked up.

(Btw, Ewan & Eve met in like 1994, married in July 1995 and had theire first daughter in February 1996 - Eve was like 4 months pregnant when they married. There you have your reason)

The same guys, nearly the same crew- they look very nice until now (Claudio for President :) and almost the same music..... WOW...and I love the design of the helmet-cake !!

And if people are interested enough to buy the DVDs and books (and I count myself guilty) it would daft not to capitalise on it. I think it began as an idea for a holiday which rapidly became a TV opportunity. At least they raised UNICEF's profile. Ewan has actually said he'd like to do the "planned" South America trip unfilmed but we shall see.
