Hi, i'm Indonesian railfan. There's any driver on helper locomotives (mid/tail)? Or front locomotive driver control these all locomotives? Nice video! thx before
All helper service locomotives are manned. DPU consists are remote from the lead unit, and are not manned, and are also not considered helpers. Thanks!
Ill take you to see CSX, Conrail, N&S, Wheeling and Lake erie, UP, Ann Arbour, Some Chessie patch and C&O occasionaly (we just caught a C&O angine and have pics) BNSF, CEFX, HCLX, and more indusrty, yards and line than you could capture in a year. Ima advocate for Toledo Im so sick of Western RR and Fostoria Oh. My dad worked for C&O to CSX two Uncles for Conrail to N&S and some family back on the NYC during steam era. And my dad put a little time on the Pennsy.
Dude it must be nice and quite where you live. Thats nice if you like to watch MRL, BNSF, UP in the middle of nowhere. If you ever come to the Toledo Oh. area feel free to contact me and ill take you on a freakin rail fan till your head spins trip. There are so many trains and diff railroads here. Tracks around every corner. Ill even take you into bad areas the police dont spend much time in. Now thats rail fanning. I dig your vids they are just boring some times.
You should see these BNSF unit grain trains go through Tehachapi Pass in CA. One train had a BNSF 9-44CW, ex-BN SD60M, ex-BN SD70MAC, Oakway SD60 in the lead. Mid-helpers were ex ATSF SD45-2, ex-ATSF SD75M, CN SD50F, ex-IC SD70. Rear helpers were ex-ATSF GP60M, BNSF GP60B in Heritage I colors, ex-ATSF GP50, ex-BN GP40-2 with "tiger stripes". Very rare train indeed!
How tough is the grade on this piece of track? when look in the bbackground from where the train comes, you get a feeling that there is a grade but not it is steep one.
heck ive seen four engines with 171 cars and they were doing 60mph

It's hard to realize the severity of that grade when you see what looks to be open flat land. At least Adam wasn't bored this time. ;o) Nice job!
