How do you get it to stay as a feture instead of having to do it all over again evrytime? I got it to show the dig speed but once I turn the car off I hvae to redo the whole thing.
umm when I do the mph it gos up 1 at a time slowly...vewry lowly..I drove around the block and it only went to like 20 and i was doing 40...it started at like 1 and just went 1,2,3,4,5,.... how do Iget it so it shows the speed...It says mph.
Yes, it does work. Hold down the Reset and Select Buttons when turning the ignition on or starting the car and it will do the gauge test and then using the select button will allow you to select displays such as RPM, MPH in digital form, injector timing, coolant temp, etc. Press the Reset button while in service mode to exit.
Sure, you can drive with this on. Yeah, you get a digital speed readout while driving. I did this vid in my garage, so I couldn't show that feature ;D Check my other vid, "My Cougar 0-100" to see it in action ;)

@mitsumi9941 You don't. It's just a service mode to diagnose a possible fault. You have to activate it everytime you turn the car on.

Confirmed working on a 1999 Mercury Cougar. Select + Units while starting car.
Not sure if my gauges are off though; Needles say 25, digital says 20. Not sure which one to trust now.

@LLTakilies Trust the dig speed...My needle is off by 3 or 4 also.
mitsumi9941 1 year ago
@LLTakilies Trust the digital one. The needles show more speed in every car. It's intentional.

Does anybody know what all these configurations mean? Km/h, RPM and the motor temperature are logical but what about the other data?

when do i start the car... and when can i let go of buttons? it doesnt work sometimes..
xmagic99 2 years ago
The way I usually do it, I start the car when the needles are like halfway up and let go of the buttons once they're completely down.
