your RES could get trapped in under that bridge setup- try finding a more open way for him/her to get out of the water and secondly you need an actual tank- RES turtles like to swim- they live IN water. My RES has grown considerably in the 5 months that I have had him. My RES was the same size as yours when we saved him and now he is 3'' across. Good luck!
when mine was that small I actually had him in water he could swim in, but to each his own. I have a male red eared slider my self with a shell about 5 inch, he lives in a 30 g with a lot of water and other fish.
