stay away from fabric, will look like a cheap bed spread, one of the best studio lenses is the 24-70 f2.8 but a big price tag, an alternative is the 85mm 1.8 still a bit pricey but super sharp.
Do you have any comments on Paper backgrounds or fabric backgrounds? I am thinking of getting it and fabric seems a lot cheaper and easier especially for storying and setting up. any preferences?

@jeffblack6969 actually you can also go with 24-105 f4 for portrait shots.
