Ah yes I would have to agree that fatigue IS a big problem with many driver's on the limits of their normal concentration period.

I really don't see how widening the road is going to alleviate, much in the way of congestion.

There are 2 new gantries over the road on the northern outskirts of Cooma and the southern side of Bredbo, and I believe there are 2 more for the Monaro and Snowy Mountains Hwy to monitor travel times and speeds possibly see if driver's swap too, we shall have to wait.

Yes I agree that this is an inconvenience BUT if it means I get home safely to my family and not taken out by a drink driver then I will put up with it everyday of the week.

@mozzmann how about the fatigue and frustration this traffic congestion creates? Fatigue is a bigger killer at this time of year than any form of substance abuse. Its just a lot more difficult to test for it with a roadside blitz...

@theoriginalnoob1 You have GOT to be joking, you have not seen the amount of pissed people who drive to the resorts 8 and 9 in the morning after being on the turps to 1 or 2 , The human body does not process alcohol that fast especially if the individual was 1 or 2 times the legal limit when they go to bed at 2 AM.

I believe there were quite a number charged with DUI offences as a result of the breath testing at that time of the morning.

I think we as well as the Police should be pushing the RTA to 1 have somewhere for the police to setup safely off the road to e able to conduct the RBT/RDT when they want to. No one would suggest that Jindabyne should be without them, durring this season we need them more than ever. Secondly we should be pushing the RTA for at the least a tidal flow of traffic going from that roundabout through to the tredbo turn off. 4 lanes into 1 is the biggest cause of traffic congestion.

Seriously, the cops need to find a better place to do this! It's important that people under the influence of drugs or alcohol are apprehended as soon as possible, but this is just over the top!
