This game sucks in terms of combat. Worst combat system ever. You can be in the midst of a 7 person battle and he'll do some cinematic ass "finishing move" which gets you cut the fuck up half the time. Whoever thought of that should have their throat cut.

@ShizzleCrizzle The is a mod to allow him to walk, just google "Flash mod for The Witcher". it comes with other things, but you get to choose what modules to install. One allows the GUI to be toggled on and off and allows a jey to be chosen for walking!

Oblivion...It didn't suck, but was largely disappointing. couldn't hold a candle to marrowind. For all its pretty graphics, it was a boring game. As stated by below posters the level scaling and itemization fell flat on its face, hears to hoping Skyrim lives up to the TES name.

@PhoenixFyre97 If you are looking for a fun game to pass the time, get a used copy of MWind (get the edition with both expansion packs). granted it can be hard to appreciate a game when taking a step back in the series(the graphics and combat are not a s polished, and you have to read a lot) but the over-all world and lore really make up for it. as for computer, me too lol, I'm saving to build a new one, but honestly Skyrim looks like Obliv, might not be too demanding for a new game.

Haha, Oblivion actually sucks as an Rpg(without mods) the level scaling pissed all over the whole Rpg side of it, loot and leveling up became redundant. Also Cyrodil was a generic piece of shi*, Morrowind was way better. Also cyrodil was supposed to be a jungle, not a poxy boring forest flat land POS. Don't worry anymore though, Skyrim seems to have it's shi* back together.

@TheBG23 It's generic granted but I wouldn't say it sucks, it created a great open world that has some especially beautiful war away views, some towns actually did have a bit of variations, anvil being a sea port, imperial city was a huge generic mid evil city, lewayin was more of a dark age kind of town the kind of one you would see a noble ruling during fuedalism, bruma is a mountain lodge type town and cheyindal has some victorian style houses.

@TheBG23 Mkae no mistake though Morrrowind is head and shoulders better, it has some of the most original ideas and places ever in a game world. From the volcanic mountains, to the simple mid evil town of seyda neen to the very strange almost alien culture of the dark elf villages in the desert everything is a treat to the eye and makes you want to explore, plus the creatures were cool and amazing, everything from dinosaurs, to giant jellyfish to golems to demons ect.

The things I dislike about the Witcher are the voice acting, the animations (facial mostly which are non-existant) and the combat is too simplistic. Hopefully the sequel is different. I noticed in a video Geralt dodging a spell being fired at him. Stuff like that makes the combat more involving than just clicking whenever the on-screen icon tells you to.

The point is that this game is not about world exploration, looting boxes and stuff, or using your brain. At least i did not find it in game yet. All the controls are designed for console - not for PC. So I will take gamepad and try game with it.

@ToReAchTheStArS In fact i want to point that controls are designed for gamepad. For instance, you cant jump (only in special places). Camera rotation is made with huge acceleration level - that's relative to gamepad control. Attacking is very simple and your combat progress depends not on your skills using keyboard&mouse - like it is in TES - here you have only attack button and a 4 roll dodges, which are semi-automatic too. I must admit, there are 3 combat styles, but do not require brain too

Isometric camera mode brings your play to a mouse, but it doesn't bring much changes - all of your control is on mouse, and players are not motivated to use shortcuts. I found this mode very bad for combat and probably it has some good sides, but i changed to chase mode in 5 minutes of gameplay

There is a hybrid camera mode - but this is totally useless, although a little spectacular.

@AnemoiInAction definately !! I love it. Other rpg's I really enjoyed were fallout 1-2-3, oblivion, hack'n'slay diablo 2, gothic 1&2. this one is more sinister and adult oriented like fallout 1&2, has some satire, many moral choices with shades of grey.. I recommend it.

@Hauntzz this game is very scripted, although you can choose two main pathways. The mechanics in comparisson to Elder Scrolls games is not too similar. This game uses third person views and "over the shoulder view" as well. It has a great story and good graphics (for it's time). I'd recommend it. Also, if you get this game,make sure you get the ENHANCED EDITION. It's the same price. Download a demo ultimately if you're not sure of the game. But trust me, you'll like it. :). I hope this helps

Anyway, The Witcher is more solid and has got a more consistent story, better missions and dialogs. Conclusion: I think the Witcher it's more impressive (I am talking about the Enhanced Edition) and you will like it if you want to play a good RPG.
