Hey! Please help me! I remember a Disney special about love. It featured "My Funny Valentine" and most importantly "Disney Girls" originally by Beach Boys, but in this version not sung by them, but a duet... Please help me! I really want to find it!!
oh my..i was so entrenched in 'church' THIS special 'initiated' me into 80's pop/rock...i never knew that 'oh mickey' was NOT about m.mouse....and the first time i heard stray cats, etc, etc...haha!but i LOVE this video for 'rock this town' and bambi is a perfect fit for lionel richie (for me anyway!)haha!thankx for posting this sentimental blast from the past!
If you have Firefox for a browser, click on Tools, Add-ons, Get Add-ons, then search for "youtube". Download the add-on "Fast Youtube Downloader" or something similar. After it's been installed, open this video and you should see a link below the window player for download in FLV, MP4, or 3GP. I've been doing this all day to back up these videos in case Disney removes them soon.
Disney footage used for "Hey Mickey": MICKEY'S STEAMROLLER (1934) PLANE CRAZY (1928) WILD WAVES (1929) THE PET STORE (1933) THE MAIL PILOT (1933) PUPPY LOVE (1933) THE KLONDIKE KID (1932) THE GALLOPIN' GAUCHO (1928) SHANGHAIED (1934) YE OLDEN DAYS (1933) THE NIFTY NINETIES (1941) THE BRAVE LITTLE TAILOR (1938) MICKEY'S RIVAL (1936)
anyone know where we can get a copy? I have thought about this special for 10 years and was grateful to find it here... but I want one of my very own to show my kids! I can't find it anywhere...
Sweet god, every quote and sound comes back to me and strikes primal memory centers buried deep within my brain. I, like others, had these on VHS back in the day. We could never hope to get a DVD release due to all the copyrights, so I thank you for uploading these for everyone to see.
OMG! I have been looking for this forever! I LOVED this special w hen I was a kid-- especially the Lionel Richie and Madonna songs, but the whole thing is totally nostalgic. Thank you so much for posting!
Wow! I used to have this recorded off TV when this first aired...I loved it sooo much! Especially the cartoon that in in sync with the Stray Cats song...anyone know the name of the cartoon itself?

the owl you see from bambi, is he voiced by the guy from haloween?
cgsmitherine3 2 years ago
The voice actor that played Friend Owl, Will Wright, died 16 years before "Halloween" was released.
In other words...no.

Yikes! Pause it at 2:54, and you can see that girl's boob. I think they airbrushed that out on "Make Mine Music"'s DVD release.

"Hey Mickey", as sung here by Desiree Goyette, is from the Totally Minnie special and album. The original was by Toni.
StokersMate 3 years ago
And do you know why they decided to not use Toni's version of the song? Because Toni was a ex porno star lol Disney must keep up its standards

The footage for the song Hello by Lionel Richie is from my favorite Disney film!
