I also drove a 2009 carrera (not S) and I was amazed by its power, savagery and I had never, ever, driven such a quick shifting car. I was so involved in the driving (and this despite having driven many sports cars before, even with more power, but this is a supercar. I then knew why).
@altobag97 they are amazingly engineered cars... but im not so much into carrera 4. 4wd is good on audis but i prefer rwd on a porsche because its not even dangerous with those lim. slip diffs
As much as I don't really like luxury performance cars, I absolutely love Porsche because they are very light, reliable, cutting edge, gorgeous cars. BMWs just keep getting heavier and more bloated, they could learn a thing or two from Porsche.
Thing with this is though. If you wanted all the excitement then isn't having it all done automatically contradict that? Once you get use to the car, and the technology no longer fascinates you wont it just be like driving a good auto? There are lots of improvements I'd like to do with it but really my 834kg 5 speed manual DOHC 4-cyl Toyota Starlet delivers a pleasureable but safe drive on a mountain road, due to its small-car agility, lightweight and non-power steering.
I agree it may seem that way. But Porsche has tested this launch control over and over. They never got smoke, or smells from the transmission or nuttin like that. It's built solid....
Sport Plus is where you access the Launch Control. Also with the PDK in Automatic mode, the transmission will not shift until it hits the redline and it downshifts at a higher rpm and more aggressive. Throttle response is quicker in both Sport modes but the regular Sport is not as aggressive.
Does look good, and those gear changes sound so quick!
Porsche has had this technology since the mid-1980s (with the 956 Le Man cars), and hasn't got around to putting its invention into its road cars until now.
Amazing when one counts up how many step-changes in technology were developed and introduced by Porsche (this, Sychromesh, and Galvanisation, to name but a few).
Fuckin auto garbage, get a manual, and yes ive owned one.

porsche interiors are the best ones

@assammaralunga uh...the interiors (and the engine failures) have always been the main thing that has kept me from getting a porsche.
