  • I can't understand why anybody would make their mountain bike fixed! What if they need to transition from going steep uphill then steep downhill? Won't that gear ration that made them able to go uphill make them spin out when they go downhill? Also, with constantly moving pedals, won't your pedals end up hitting a jutting rock that would have been avoided by leveling out your pedals on a freewheel?

  • @iTzKRAM3R mostly because it's ridiculous. I started riding my road fixie on trails as a faster way home, and things ended up snowballing from there... cross tires, flat bars, and eventually a 29er with fatties. I definitely can't do the same technical terrain that I can on my single speed, but it's a blast and a hell of a training ride. Try one out some time.

  • Why not a coaster brake instead?

  • As this video demonstrates fixie mtbs are very practical! Go get yours in a local bike shop near you! :D

  • 2 guys with Jones?? Nice. Cool video, i have considering making an old ss mtn bike fixed but its hard on my knees for flat pedals on the road. Maybe clipless and lower gearing will make it possible off road.

  • what are the advantage/ disadvantaqges of having a fixie mountiaqn bike? (im building a mountain bike from scratch and idk if i should gop with multiple speeds or note.. for now i put on multiple speeds.. but thats pretty much all there is on the fame)
