  • The biggest irony is that all three landing gears stayed intact, even after the horizontal vertical stabilizers broke off!

  • Soon after the incident, rescue workers safely extracted the 500 pound stewardess from the separated tail section.

  • I'd hate to be the Stewardess sitting in the aft jumpseat when her galley way ripped off! I'm pretty sure if she was in that jumpseat then she was the first to disembark! Nothing better than a crew pass, the fast track system and a skidding tailcone to get you to the terminal on time!

  • @StealthCessnaCombats You're so funny. How old are you? Like 10? That would explain the reason why you think that this is fake. It's not. And I don't know why you would choose to call something gay? Ten year olds don't know that gay is a non-offensive term used to describe people who love their same sex. Gay ISN'T a synonym for stupid. Do you even know what a synonym is?

  • @StealthCessnaCombats I said it to you once you retard, FUCK you.

  • Youre an Idiot, fuck you.

  • @StealthCessnaCombats Wow.. is that the best you've got big shot?

  • @StealthCessnaCombats More like it was a stress test they performed in the 80's. You're fake and gay.

  • @StealthCessnaCombats its not fake or gay so stop trolling/being an idiot and go away

  • drunk pilot

  • Like a fish floundering! Hate those planes. Pity the guy near the tail. Must have kacked his trollys!! Or did he fall out?

  • plane ki to maa chud gaye

  • The price to pay for smoking in the economy toilets...lol

  • MABEY NOWON WILL NOTISE

  • "Thank you for flying today, if you would please make your way to the brand new exit located at the rear of the plane........" lol.

  • too hard landing, I think that was a controlled test to see what happens.

  • Nothing a little duct tape and bailing twine won't fix!

  • Is it radio controlled or are there test pilots in there?

  • is that RC MD-80 or was it the Aircraft MADE from China or India??

  • lol he was waaayyyyy too slow on landing, couldn't generate the lift he needed and slammed it down on the runway.

  • Imagine the poor bastards sitting near the back! Screw that! LOL!

  • That looks unhealthy

  • were the cooks in the tail? lol

  • This plane took off again 20 minutes later!!

  • millions

  • @Gauchoo1234 it was a hard landing controlled test. No deaths

  • anyone lose there luggage?

  • lol

  • You weren't on that flight and the captain didn't taxi that pile anywhere! You can see the training wheel collapsed as the nose came down.

  • thats why its a test flight

  • it looks like he descended to fast and hit the pavement hard.

you can see the whole plane's body warps..

yea that was a hard hit landing..

  • God, how many copies of this video are there? It was established that this video was A TEST from the manufacturers testing the aircraft's capabilities and durability.

  • shit! Ma Tails dropped off!!! :((.

  • FAK I LEFT MY ASS!

  • ХУНТА

  • bad engineering

  • Bad landing actually.

  • Ooops, wheres my ass!?

  • musta sucked to be on that bird huh?

  • hahaah

  • 727 was and is better!

  • dang wat the heck was wrong with it?

  • The tail fell off.

  • Really? I didnt notice...

  • Well, the most important thing is he landed that thing.

  • poor md

  • Comment removed

  • uuuuu....NICE LANDING!!!

GUYS if you are facebook users you can join the group

    SAVE THE "MAD-DOG".....(MD-80)

  • HAHAHAHHA!!! lol:D

  • It was a test flight why do you think theres no one else there? And that theres a camera video taping?

  • NEVER sit in the back row.

  • if youre flying a budget airline, always fly in the back rows:P that way if you crash, the other passengers act as a huge crumple zone:P lol

  • But the MD80 has engines in the rear.

  • yes, thats correct:) how on earth does that relate to my comment??

  • so thats what happens when you stall during landing lol

  • He was stalling. His sink rate was way to high and he was behind the power curve. I think this was a test flight or controlled crash for research.

  • after only 1 flight its still durable. lol

  • Probably should have gone around after he touched down :P

  • thats about as funny as a fart in a 172

  • damn that gotta hurt

  • can u saw stall he needs to be on a buddy box.....

  • I am sorry sir , you didn't pass your FAA Pilot's Licence Test , please taxi to the nearest BATHROOM PLEASE.

  • critical separation not condusive to fly

  • I think they gave the captain the reference book from a Piper Cub, landing speed was a tad low I think. :P

  • rofl so much for tail support lmao

  • ummmmm captain I think you lost something.

  • it's just a test not a normal flight

  • I wanna ride!!!!!!!!!!!

  • testies..1...2......3?

  • this was a testing

  • just a normal Md-80 landing

  • lol

  • ouch !!!!

    that must be hard

  • I think that that was a test flight. You'll notice that it looks very similar to Boeing's test field. and alson that the video was started only seconds before touchdown - as if that were the important bit and the accident was anticipated.

  • It snapped like a twig! I hope everyone was ok though.

  • why did the gear went forward? this plane is like plastic lol

  • the pilot landed the shit out of that thing, that was nowhere near a normal landing, it was either a stress test, or a very unique emergency landing situation

  • Were they all okay?

  • this was a test. not a real flight.

  • omg, when did this happen ?

  • I guess that's what happens when you try to land at -1500 feet per minute.

  • david is ghay

  • that is what I call a PROFESSIONAL :D, no not really...

  • awful approach... bad ROD

  • hmm maybe the t-tail stalled behind the wing? and it's pretty ridiculous that there are multiple uploads of this video on youtube lol

  • HA ha ha!

  • u know the quality of the vid is horid

  • how is he going to taxi without a rudder

  • That is what the tiller is for!

The rudder is useless for taxi!

  • it's not the rudder that steers the plane during taxi.. it's the front gear controlled by the tiller that turns much like your car. that sounds like a typical flight simulator comment.

  • the plane stalled at 00.4 and when flaps are fully extended, the nose points DOWN, thats the whole point, so that the pilot can see where he/she is going. Landing gear are stronger than most people think, i'm pretty sure that was legitimate.

  • I'm afraid that makes no sense at all. In slow flight or on landing, you fly with the flaps extended and the nose *up*.

  • i have no idea if that was set up or not and i have no idea if that was real

Although a couple of questions firstly i think you got that video from another website because i sdaw it there originally

secondly on both occasions of viewing this video it is very blurry.

THX captain stammaerson first rate 727 pilot

  • the nose is pointed up because flaps are fully extended

  • it's called a flare...every pilot does that right before he lands so that the main gear(which are much stronger than the nose gear)hit the ground first

  • if your rate of descent was that fast, the nose wouldn't be up, it would be pointed toward the ground unless the spoilers were deployed, and they weren't

  • not possible, the landing gear would sheer off into the ground, the landing gear can't take that much stress, the tail can take more stress than the gear. this is a set up.

  • If you take notice..the front landing gear does fail.

  • Yes this test was real. It did not have any passengers, it was part of the FAA certification procedure that all American made aircraft have to go through. It was to test the airframe on a hard landing condition. The tail structure was beefed up as a result of this test.

  • pilot came down too fast and hard..haha ssapebut is pretty funny

  • No, this was a planned test.

  • You dummies...it's supposed to that. They shed their tail on landing and it grows back again. Doh!

  • lol

  • Last time i checked this model of plane the MD-80 are no longer made but still in service.

  • eh..dunno..looks like a test of the structural integrity of the plane in too severe a landing angle.

  • LONG TIME AGO, I got on a plane that that was acting funny, making to mush noise? and turbalace that what they said on board, 1 months later I find out it crash somewhere in mexico! left me thinking woo!

  • I was going to say always sit at the back cos planes never back into mountains...not sure where to sit now !

  • IIRC, this crash was during the airplane's development and only the test pilots were on board.

  • Yea, I am scared about getting on these, did it many times, but always think, "oh God, what if our systems status go south?". It's the risk people take everyday to get from point A to point Z. I still think we are at more risk in a car any day over a day in a commercial airliner. Wew, luckily no one was hurt in this one, but I am sure it scared the piss out everyone aboard.

  • HOLY MOTHE FUCKE

  • Oh crap, I've flown on one of those. I don't think I'll do it again anytime soon.

  • ehehe

  • Thank you for fying with spine snap airways..

  • Haha! Good One!! :)

  • Nice video!

Seeing what broke I don't think it was close to the passenger area, only the tail's small engine (APU) and the entire plane's hydraulic control systems (all but the plane wheels were out of control just after the tail fell). I would say that even the engines were safe.

    NB: I'm aero engineer

  • According to the flight roster the plane was only 3/4 full of passengers.

The tail section snapped off directly after the last seat that was not occupied...

One seeat up from the accident was a 366 pound boston eclair eatin American.

The passenger stated, "I wassan gonna get up just because of a little bump in the flight, this here eclair occupied my belly etc..."

    weird?

  • fucking hell, were there lots of passengers on board that plane, and if so, were they ok
