I'd hate to be the Stewardess sitting in the aft jumpseat when her galley way ripped off! I'm pretty sure if she was in that jumpseat then she was the first to disembark! Nothing better than a crew pass, the fast track system and a skidding tailcone to get you to the terminal on time!
@StealthCessnaCombats You're so funny. How old are you? Like 10? That would explain the reason why you think that this is fake. It's not. And I don't know why you would choose to call something gay? Ten year olds don't know that gay is a non-offensive term used to describe people who love their same sex. Gay ISN'T a synonym for stupid. Do you even know what a synonym is?
God, how many copies of this video are there? It was established that this video was A TEST from the manufacturers testing the aircraft's capabilities and durability.
I think that that was a test flight. You'll notice that it looks very similar to Boeing's test field. and alson that the video was started only seconds before touchdown - as if that were the important bit and the accident was anticipated.
the pilot landed the shit out of that thing, that was nowhere near a normal landing, it was either a stress test, or a very unique emergency landing situation
it's not the rudder that steers the plane during taxi.. it's the front gear controlled by the tiller that turns much like your car. that sounds like a typical flight simulator comment.
the plane stalled at 00.4 and when flaps are fully extended, the nose points DOWN, thats the whole point, so that the pilot can see where he/she is going. Landing gear are stronger than most people think, i'm pretty sure that was legitimate.
it's called a flare...every pilot does that right before he lands so that the main gear(which are much stronger than the nose gear)hit the ground first
if your rate of descent was that fast, the nose wouldn't be up, it would be pointed toward the ground unless the spoilers were deployed, and they weren't
not possible, the landing gear would sheer off into the ground, the landing gear can't take that much stress, the tail can take more stress than the gear. this is a set up.
Yes this test was real. It did not have any passengers, it was part of the FAA certification procedure that all American made aircraft have to go through. It was to test the airframe on a hard landing condition. The tail structure was beefed up as a result of this test.
LONG TIME AGO, I got on a plane that that was acting funny, making to mush noise? and turbalace that what they said on board, 1 months later I find out it crash somewhere in mexico! left me thinking woo!
Yea, I am scared about getting on these, did it many times, but always think, "oh God, what if our systems status go south?". It's the risk people take everyday to get from point A to point Z. I still think we are at more risk in a car any day over a day in a commercial airliner. Wew, luckily no one was hurt in this one, but I am sure it scared the piss out everyone aboard.
Seeing what broke I don't think it was close to the passenger area, only the tail's small engine (APU) and the entire plane's hydraulic control systems (all but the plane wheels were out of control just after the tail fell). I would say that even the engines were safe.
The biggest irony is that all three landing gears stayed intact, even after the horizontal vertical stabilizers broke off!

Soon after the incident, rescue workers safely extracted the 500 pound stewardess from the separated tail section.

I'm afraid that makes no sense at all. In slow flight or on landing, you fly with the flaps extended and the nose *up*.

secondly on both occasions of viewing this video it is very blurry.

According to the flight roster the plane was only 3/4 full of passengers.
The tail section snapped off directly after the last seat that was not occupied...
One seeat up from the accident was a 366 pound boston eclair eatin American.
The passenger stated, "I wassan gonna get up just because of a little bump in the flight, this here eclair occupied my belly etc..."
weird?
