You can drrive in that, just maintain enough that you see the truck in front of you. If he goes supertrucker just back it down to 20-25 and watch for any shadows. Stay off your jakes and you will be fine.
There is nothing, nothing in WY. No houses, no buildings, no trees. I drove through it in a blizzard and, if not for the road signs, I could have been driving on Mars
Nice whiteouts here in NY between Rochester & Syracuse when you catch lake effect, more exciting in the pitch black visibility maybe 10 ft in front of the hood. Any whiteout is white knuckle fun! Yikes! Stay safe drivers!
Wow. I live in northern British Columbia in Canada and our winters are milder than the ones in Wyoming! I would still like to visit though, but maybe only in the summer.
I traveled I-80 January of 08 blizzards and it took us 3 days to get from Salt Lake to Rawlins, the roads were mostly closed. We were grateful to be safe and get a motel room! We saw signs of many accidents and the underpasses had been completely packed full of snow. I dread winter travel and after 50 years in Wyoming, I have learned it's better not to go, if you do not have to.Thank you for being a safe driver....the truck is always going to win!
haha that was last winter in Wyoming. One of the worst winters here in a long time. . . roads were closed between Evanston and the Valley 18 out of the 31 days in January. You can expect snow any time between January 1st and December 31st. :) Even on the 4th of July!
I drove through Wyoming last Thanksgiving (in a car) and it was only 1 or 2 inches of snow, but it was so cold it stuck hard. We had to slow down to 25 mph at times. At one point, slush from another vehicle hit my windshield and instantly froze. In one spot it drifted a foot deep. When it wasn't snowing, it was miles of emptiness, except for the western part which was pretty. I promised myself I'd never drive through Wyoming again if I could avoid it.
Now that's what I call a whiteout. I went through a whiteout on the Ohio Turnpike and I had almost 1500lbs in the box. The nearest service plaza was 20 miles away and I believe it took me almost an hour to get there, but I got there safe. The road was littered with wrecks the next morning so I can immagine what it looked like once it was clear there in Wyoming.
It gets like this every year and anytime from September 1 into mid June in Cheyenne, and July 2 of one year to July 1 of the next year in the mountains. Expect strong winds from January 1 to December 31 only though.
Oh fun...

We've has worse. We were stuck in our car for 11 hours once. Luckly, we had just been food shopping, so we had no problem with starving to death
