I do not like foresters aging 4 speed. Other than that I think they should have a forester sti or tuned version like there was in japan. Theoretically any impreza tranny can be swapped in the forester with a few adjustments made.
I have a subaru outback cdi turbo diesel 2,0 lt awd in my work and drive very much. It was served at 60,000km for 3 month ago. I have now 75,000km on the trip. Should i serve it again..i? Sems a little bit extreme to serve the car avary third month.
I cant read the servicemanual cause its import from germany.
With Subaru associated with Gay and Lesbians, I wouldn't be caught dead in one. I predict their downfall very soon, due to their supporting perverted behavior.
@adampr well your wrong about there down fall. They are the only car company the last 2 years to have stronger sales each quater and profits up....aka...they did where not affected by the economy and are the only company that pulled it off. So yeah....I can see what you are not predicting for a day job !!
@adampr : This is one stupid comment. Why such stupid ass people? I hope this Subaru with a gay person in it runs your stupid ass over. You piece of shit!!
I was all set to buy one, and guess what?! Sales tax here in Commiefornia went to 10%, and I REFUSE to pay it. Now, everyone from the tire manufacturers to the dealership personnel get nothing. And guess what?! The Commiefornia government gets nothing too. I'd call that pretty stupid governance.
The new Subaru appeals more to the younger buyer. I think maybe he was a bit more biased, because he owns an old one. The last generation Outbacks tend to appear more for the older buyer.
@Plisken1986 i agree... the old outback had a much nicer interior, was way better to look at, and drove better. the americans didn't buy it, because to the americans, a vehicle isn't practical unless it's 50 feet long and 300 feet tall.
This roof rack sucks! In addition to kayakdad325's comments, if you want to carry skis in a cargo box, the venerable Yakima Space Booster/RocketBox hits the rear hatch. The cross bars can't be moved. There's only 20 inches from the rear bar to an open hatch. The only Yakima box that works is the wide Skybox 16s. Skis longer than 190cm? Need to carry something else? You're out of luck. The side-rails block 3rd-party towers. I'd rather have a bare roof so I can install towers where I need them.
It would be nice if someone would do real in depth reviews, like a detailed video on the navigation system. What works best about the voice activation system, what is locked out when the car's in motion, etc.
Yeah. The reviews right now from most sites cover the basics but I want that in addition to the safety features and technology (like the puddle lights, the mood lights and other customizations).
I put a Mega Warrior on mine with the kayak stacker in the center of the land shark. I have carried 2 bikes and two kayaks at once. Not a lot of cars will carry 4 yacks at the same time well... good luck with that
Subaru has been known to do controversial styling, and this car is no exception ... The only reason this 2010 model is better is the bigger dimension, which is puzzling because parking stalls are not getting any bigger, and so why do car manufacturers keep making them bigger every time they do a redesign ?
o my 04 impreza has a problem bringing up the windows and iv'e notice a lot of the older imprezas still roaming around my area have lop sided windows.
I had a 2005 Outback and never had any problems with the windows in the four years I kept it. My mom had a '93 Impreza and the driver's window rubbed against the guide track.
I have a 09 Subaru Outback 2.5XT with Nav and it looks light years better than the 2010. If I just bought a 2010 model and the outgoing 2009 model was just being released, I'd be pissed.
not if you are a kayaker or biker. you can only fit 2 kayaks when I go kayaking and we run shuddle we need to put 4 -6 kayaks on the roof. This rack is a real let down for the recreational user.
we only have 5 models here that are sold with diesel, The VW Jetta, Jetta Sportwagon, Toureag, the BMW 3 series and X5. we have very strict emissions standards.
that's what you think. But well, as you have said, diesel is prob just as good as petrol, or worse, so no wonder no one really drives diesel car around here.....except for truck drivers.
I don't know about America, but here diesel is FAR cheaper than petrol.
As fuel in general is expensive here, it's more economical for people to drive diesel here. Plus insurance on a diesel car is cheaper than a petrol equivalent.
diesel is about $.30, equilvalent to about 0.341616 EUR, more expensive than regular gas, which where is live is $2.35 per gallon, which is equivalent to about 1.60568 EUR
I like the outback. But the higher trims cost alot.

clutch replacement, overheating, a/c went out (multiple times). i was amazed at what an overall piece of shit it is.

The old ones were not perfect, they were to small and you had now room on backseat. New one has much better room value.
