I read your description I agree This level is really fitting and appropriate for Shadow awesome nice thinking I agree all the way I hated this level I always had trouble with this back when I had the PS2 Version but now with the GC I'm starting to like this level a bit more Shadow is awesome to play as....Dark Desert is cool level once you get the hang of it then it becomes a bit more simple

@alocciriccola The characters involved in the story mode who are playable characters are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles Amy, Jet, Wave, Storm, Eggman, and the E-1000 robots. All of the others are for the non-story modes.

I'm guessing the character you saw there was Aiai. He is indeed the protagonist of Super Monkey Ball.

4 reasons why i hate this game

1.The Announcer NEVER SHUTS THE HELL UP!!!!

2. People can EASILY and i mean EASILY catch up with you thanks to turbulence

some times in the energy ball part 0:55 the camera changes direction and as you go around, you can see the character actually spinning. has that ever happened to you guys.

PS: i also get pissed at that part when the CPU's go faster than you, and i've been wanting to try put something on the stick that would make it rotate hella fast and see if it works lol. but i've never tried it :(

In the SEGA ILLUSION one, when u rotate the stick fast, on the globe thingy, u do go fast on it. FTW!?

All of these segments allow you to go faster the quicker you rotate the control stick.

They really ravage your palms if you do it too much though. If you're really into control stick rotation, there's a (now rare) special glove Nintendo created for just that.

Something that troubles me with this level, is that all the CPU's can do this: on that part towards the end, when you have to rotate you control stick, they always move faster and end up at the bottom, WHATS WITH THAT?!?

Well, if it helps, holding down on the control stick while doing a trick will have your character do a high jump; holding up on the control stick instead makes the character do a long jump. Some shortcuts require you do one or the other to reach places.
