  • That Pike is just to smart ! :)

  • cool video, thanks for sending

  • whats the camera its really clear

  • @tom5743 canon hf s10 but I forgot to wipe dome port (front glass) of the housing so you can see a white spot on the left side

  • good video

  • Намахала она щуку !!!

  • Great footage

  • notice the rudd play dead until the pike left? coincidence?

  • Would you eat a diseased fish? Then you let it go again!

Good sentiments, but I am afraid your just give the antis ammunition against 'live-baiting'

They will never understand the eithics because they do not want to.

It has always been and will continue to be a constant battle to those who opose fishing in any form!

    Regards

    Paul

  • 1:45 to 2:25 roach was dead

  • Great vid. For people who think its cruel, that rudd's days/hours were numbered anyway, pike mainly attach the weakest fish in the shoal because they are an easy target. survival of the fittest, its nature. because of this, rivers/lakes with a good stock of pike, result in a very healthy stock of coarse fish, as the weaker fish are picked off.

  • that pike must of been well fed when he turned down that opportunity

  • Ok the fish is playing dead I've never seen that before it was funny thumbs up if u agree

  • great vid,, iv witnessed pike that hav been cought before on baits check the bait out,, nudging it along the bottom of the canal, obviosly curious this time round

  • what a beautiful fish

  • isnt live baiting banned in Ireland??????/

  • @gardonferoce have you ever read first words at the very beginning? "No hook has been used!" No hook - no bait. I don't do fishing by the way... but I do filming and researching wildlfie.

  • your mean :(

  • Good for the antis this one a Rudd on a fixed rig nice one

  • Being eaten isn't so bad - there are worse ways to go as demonstrated in this video.

This video really shows how pretty Rudd are.

  • Your videos are always very informative and beautiful.

  • what a beautiful shot. definite intelligence being shown by the pike.

  • @telemetry9 I've been fishing for Pike for over twenty years I have the upmost respect for them. They learn very quickly particularly during the winter months. Where I fish the local water becomes pressurised i.e. too many anglers dead baiting for Pike, as a consequence dropped runs are inevitable as the Pike learn to mouth the baits before swallowing, doesn't matter how light I go with my tackle they instinctively know when a dead bait is tethered and will often play with it before moving on

  • perhaps the pike can't resist that silver shiny thing going at high speed through the water.(well maybe the younger ones who haven't learned). I used to love fishing for pike with a spinner. It doesn't actually matter the size of the pike (for me anyway) - they always put up such a brave fight.

I have a friend who thinks they are ugly - but to me they are beautiful looking fish.

Always remember in the canals around Glasgow - watching them sunbathe and some were indeed monsters. :)

  • thats cool

  • Very cool video =)

  • that looks so animated

  • the pikes like WTF on yo face

  • the pike won -_-

  • Thats a great clip,id say the pike was fooled like that once too often, smart pike.

  • That was a really interesting video. Well done for putting it up despite knowing that people would not understand and would call it sick or inhumane or whatever. I think the pike left it because it was behaving so strangely and it had been caught on a similar method before. Some fish are more intelligent than some would like to believe. They have the ability to learn.

  • nice vid!

  • Another superb video victor... some may think it is cruel but lets face it most of the people who watched it eat fish and so does the pike..don't be hippocritical guys. This video shows that pike are clever animals and can distinguish between real situations and those attempting to mimic them, thus it illustrates that pike can learn... something that many fisheries scientists may be skeptical about... i think if the bait was smaller she would have eaten it :P

  • That pike's no fool...

  • its like that nightmare where you cant move and you know something bad is about to happen

  • there is nothing cruel at all about this, it a life cycle that happens as he said the pike would eat other fish which is the same result

  • I like your other videos but dis was cruel

  • @videogameguy1999 a whole life is cruel if you look closely... but it's not an issue - it's just a pity :)

  • nice video the pike is smarter than you think

  • An excellent and rare insight into an environment we know so little about. Thanks.

  • Nice video dude

  • i love the video, and i think you may be on to somthing with how smart the fish actually are..i think it saw a line and a dodgy looking fish on the end, and thought somethings not quite right, sod that, great vid

  • Also silly people think by removing pike they are helping, thats making it worse. By removing large pike for instance (killing them)... you are actually creating more pike. Large pike eat small pike and keep pike numbers down, Mother nature has a knack of being much more in control of things than us. So leave alone.

  • where is this

  • The pike doesnt want to eat a sick fish

  • great vid. i like it.

  • looks like the rudd played dead

  • The reason it didn't attack that rudd is that he was checking it out. He has been caught on rod and line before probably from live bait so he can see the line attached to that rudd and dosn't want to be caught.

  • @IIJAMiiE I think that you are right - that pike was too smart.

  • to be honest, most coarse fishermen would be annoyed by this, given the rudd was sick, doesnt matter, rudd are rarer than you think, and sick fish can get better.

  • @Seanin75 I was thinking for quiet long time do it or not and show it or not. I didn't break any rulles and I didn't do anything against nature. So, if someone can't understand why pike eats rudd and other fish - sorry, I can't answer because I didn't create this system. But I would like to see how it happens and I would like to show it to others.

  • @underwaterireland Pike eat up tp 5 times their own weight in fish each year, and you didnt break the law, just bent it a lot, I like your videos, very cool and interesting, Im a coarse angler and into conservation, but I know this will get a few anglers ticked off, also try not to give locations out as you probably know there are guys going around netting and eating the coarse fish stock..like I said, really enjoy the footage..keep it up!!

  • @Seanin75 Sick fish spread disease to healthy fish, the pike was created for good reason. Your comment is silly. I love rud and yes they are rare nowdays, atleast large ones are but i also understand that this rud is not good to be in the water, id rather one dead rud than 10 because of it. Other people here are saying the pike doesnt want to eat sick fish lol.. That is a pointless comment also and on par with yours. The pikes main diet is sick fish, the pikes main reason is to eat sick fish.

  • this pike very intelligent! :) I think he don't bite becourse that float shaking allover the place, but anyway very interesting!

  • wow ilike it
