The movie rumor has gone around just about every year since the series went off the air. I DID write an F-TROOP movie after working with Ken Berry. He liked the script as did Storch and Tucker, but Tucker passed away about six months after reading it. The strongest rumor I've heard was about 10-15 years ago when it was rumored that Leslie Neilsen would play O'Rourke, Martin Short would play Agarn, and Jim Carrey would play Parmenter.

When Melody was "outed" as a teen-ager, there was no outrage by the studio. She was given a studio tutor and had to take classes on set. I believe the first show that was shot was an episode called "The Girl from Philadelphia" in which Melody had to show the studio that she could rope, shoot and ride well enough for the part. Ironically, by the time Melody turned 18, all the F Troop episodes had been shot---a third season was planned but Jack Warner had a stroke.

There was a wild west video hosted by Will "Sugarfoot" Hutchins a friend of mine found in a bargain bin for $5.00. This was a fantastic video with outtakes from other series, I believe. As for Melody, I was friends with her for years and she was only fifteen when she was cast. She had to say she was eighteen elso no job. Everyone caught on about seven episodes in but William Orr did not to change the chemistry that was obviously working.

As a child of the 60s, this stuff is timeless to me-- entertaining in all its innocence, and what a great cast. I can't imagine it having been any different than it was-- each person just MADE their character.  I loved the Hekawis, especially. It didn't matter that it wasn't "politically correct"-- no one got hurt; and in the end, everyone got along.

Hi. No, they aren't gay. It was a joke skit they did on the set for the benefit of other cast members and the crew. It was a scene taken from the season 1 episode, "Don't Ever Speak To Me Again".

Hi. I'm sure the director was off-camera. If you listen carefully, when Dobbs, O'Rourke, and Agarn first walk into Parmenter's office, Dobbs (James Hampton)says "Kenny." Most everyone who knows Ken Berry calls him by his nickname "Kenny". Obviously, James Hampton was giving a cue to Ken Berry to proceed with the scene as they, as actors in on the joke, had previously discussed.

I have a feeling the actors surprised the crew with this funny scene. Thanks for watching!
