  • MY WEDDING SONG IN 1967 - SUNG BY MY DAD - HIS VOICE WAS AS GOOD JOHNNYS - CHERISHED MEMORY:=):=)

  • Lrussel5, life can be so wonderful, until we loose a loved-one. Just something we can never be prepared for. My dad told me he had good memories of life, and was ready to pass on. I too miss my son who passed a few years ago. I've listen to Johnny's songs since I was about 12 and had a girlfriend that I loved very much. The lyrics are so beautiful and romantic. I never get tired of listening to his music.

  • This was my parents wedding song on April 12, 1959. Last year my Dad made a 6 foot long music notes on a staff with the notes of the chorus that hangs in the fence by their deck My Mom passed away two weeks ago and my Dad is truly heartbroken. I guess tho "It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all."

  • @Lrussel5 I sincerely pray and hope that you are all reunited in Heaven. A true and eternal love will never be denied. Thank you, Johnny Mathis.

I saw a video special of Mike Foster & Celine Dion - A Christmas Special, but the singing of Celine is removed, only the Piano part of Mike Foster remains. But I already recognise the tune is twelve of never. I am happy to find this version sing by Johnny Mathis, but this beautiful love song have been sing by Elvis, Cliff Richard, Donny Osmond, and other country song singers. A beautiful song never dies.!

Rudy Buita suggested this song for me to sing at the now defunct "Student Canteen" with Leila Benitez and Pepe Pimentel. Well, I did not win the contest but it was a memorable event in my life. Good job JM! (Rudy Arguilla)

  • Beautiful song, and Johnny Mathis sings it best.

  • Johnny Mathis was "in Concet" in Hong Kong at Lee Garden. I spent HK$200 to see him there. The HK$200 at that time equal to $300 of today's money. He was just all around perfect and even at today when I think about it and it is still every bit of very enjoyable.

  • The Beauty of the song and of the singing of Yesteryear

Mathis - had to be one of the very Best

  • The flip side of the 45rpm Chances Are has been my favorite song since Nov. 1957.

Love is love, and this song's lyrics are appropriate for any and all love relationships.

  • This is the most beautiful and moving song ever written. Anyone who has ever loved anyone cannot fail to be moved by these lyrics.

  • This is the kind of recording we are alive for...

  • Hey folks, this song means a lot to me, I've enjoyed it all my life & even used it as a dedication song to my wife. We're no longer together but I think of her often & we're still good friends. Poets run out of rhyme, that's impossible because then we wouldn't have this special day that we celebrate each year called Valentines Day. So if you do get to hear this song on that day or any other day please grab your significant other and never let her or him go, at least until the Twelfth of Never!

  • I found myself singing this in an empty parking lot last night, thinking of my late husband. What a coincidence, or maybe not. It's just that kind of song.

  • 2020ric come on man, scooterforlady said she's looking for a nice widow gentleman. Seems to me you fit the bill!Course the 12th of never is a special song you both share with your partners. . . but perhaps on, lets say, the 12th of Feb you two could meet for a chat. . Who knows you might find another song thats special to only you 2. This could be the start of something beautiful!Right my work here is done. . .. LisaMc over an out.

    P.S it's been emotional. . . . .

  • This is my Wedding Song, that my wonderful husband Doug, picked out for our wedding on August 23,1969. We were married for 39yrs, 8 months and 2 days, until he died in my Arms from an Immeniet Heart Attack on April 19,2009,Divine Mercy Sunday and my older brother,Eugene 64th Birthday. His Birthday is on January 11,2010,he would have been 67 yrs, young. Ms. Marie,The Scooter Lady, from Pinellas Park, Florida

  • @2020ric GOD BLESS YOU TOO MY BROTHER

  • Dave here. Such a pure voice! "---like roses need rain." Indeed! 'Tis said babies have died for want of a loving touch. As one of Garrison Keillor's "shy persons," I came to know that feeling. If someone brushed against me, that spot felt like it tried to reach back. Finally met my "cure." We were a mismatch. Only lasted 3 yrs., but it was enough. Enough. The last 27 yrs. more bearable than the 30 before. . . . .

  • One of the greatest romantic singers of all time. Yes, he is still entertaining audiences

  • Dedicated to my forever love , my husband Chester x x x x x

  • This was the very first song I ever heard Johnny Mathis sing ~ it was on the Flip Wilson show in the early 70's ?? and I fell in love with Johnny right there and then. I was 12 years old. He came to Canada on tour and I nagged my mother until she agreed to take me and even though it was almost 40 years ago, I will never, ever forget it. This beautiful man's voice just makes me crumble when I hear him.

  • what nicer tribute could you give anyone ,cant be many songs with more meaningful words

  • My late partner and I chose this song to be our wedding song..as we were to be married on the 12th of the 12th..and it never was to be for he was killed six months before that day..I will always love him and the 12th of never will always be a special song for us..

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, and may the great times and wonderful memories you share, enrich your lives so that when you look back upon your years together you'll smile and know that you have been truly blessed and that your 12th of never has only just begun. May God bless you as you begin your journey.

    Ralph

  • It's so touching to see people connecting like Ralph and Ryan. May we all focus on the really important things in life, like finding someone to love and cherishing that person when we do find them.

  • This song still brings tears to my eyes since it was sung at our wedding. Unfortunately, I lost her to cancer in 2003 I sang this to her just shortly before she passed away. Ironically, the day she passed away was April 12th. What a beautiful song, what a beautiful memory, what a beautiful person in my life.

  • Dear Sir:

Your comment on the Johnny Mathis song 12th of never was so touching and moving. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. God bless you and this beautiful woman. I am getting married in March 2010 and this song will be in our wedding. May peace be with you.

    Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Reminds of innocent summers almost ages ago aglow with amber lanterns. Slow dancing in the open air near the lake. The lingering scent of "Sea and Ski" sunburn preventive.

Now, much time has passed for me and gravity has subjected me to its cruel depravity.

I remember well those times of innocents with much more than nostalgia but with a genuine sense of loss.

    God bless Cosmio Propellor

  • Great audio. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song.
