Im getting ready to brew an all malt batch but i also ordered some booster packages because i want to raise the abv of the beer im going to be making. will this ruin the all malt batch by doing so?
@360gamesreviews I can't speak for Mr. Beer, but higher temps allow for the production of fusel alcohols, which add a sharp, astringent off-flavor to the beer. The higher temp gives yeast freedom to create all sorts of unfavorable results. My advice: find the coolest spot, maybe place the keg in a styrofoam cooler with cloth-wrapped ice pack to help moderate temp. Swap ice pack with fresh one daily. Cold condition bottles for a week+. No guarantees. Controlling temp is the key.

Nope, you did right. Use the whole bag of booster if you are brewing a standard refill. (This refill is for deluxe and premium refills).

i tried to make my own pale ale, and the instructions had instructed for me to use the WHOLE bag of booster for the recipe, was this wrong?

@cpnblackcock Never. This is for All-Malt recipes.
