The fact that Darken Rahl is Richard Cypher's real father in the WFR book is completely irrelevant to the series--which is separate from the books, and will not alter their canonical authenticity.

If the series has it that Panis Rahl is the father, so be it.

In the series, he's playing Richard. If you've watched the series, you'll have noticed they deviate quite a bit from the books (Rahl isn't his father, for example.)

I haven't read the books though, so I don't really get why you think he'd partially be playing Rahl or whatever.
