This Gemmy is 12 plugs, it has two boxes each with 6 plugs, the plugs are synchronized between the two boxes, it is only a 6 channel unit. What is nice though is that it allows you to do synchronization on both sides of your yard.

How many channels are you using on the gemmy, I couldn't tell but it didnt look like all 12. Looks great!

A gemmy only has 6 outlets for lights

Not true, they have a gemmy with timer that has an extra expansion box that will allow for 12 channels!
