I'm not sure why there are so many different numbers for the cost. The total cost from the first drawing to completion was about $220 Million USD. In Dec 2006 there was an article about it here in Norway in a sailing magazine. The helm is like something right out of a Starship and the sheer size of the thing is a marvel in itself. This ship is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see her up close.

I anchored beside both this year, the Maltese Falcon in Bequia and Mirabella V in either Carriacou or St. Maartens, and Mirabella V comes nowhere near the Maltese Falcon. Mirabella 1 to V can be spotted in the Cribbean regularly, and although very impressive, the Falcon is just so hi-tech it takes the shine of Mirabella.

Watching the Maltese Falcon tack into Admiralty Bay and drop the hook was a once in a lifetime experience. It took us 15 minutes to dinghy around it.

Actually yes they do sail. Unlike some of the mega yachts in the Caribbean and the Med, this boat can sail, and tack and anchor under sail. It is very impressive. It points better than some racers and impressed everyone who encountered it in the Caribbean in March.
