well since lords of shadow is an alternate beginning of the castlevania timeline, i guess it started anew instead of continuing the original timeline.
Love it how Saint germain gives this dignified speech then it cuts to Hector picking up :) Next Game: Julius belmont fights Dracula like it's on sale for 1999
@015Froggy I just wrote a fanfiction that takes place in 1999, and I put an alter ego of me that is descendant both from the Lecarde clan through Loretta, and from Hector through his grandfather (Loretta's deceased husband). The character's name is Thomas Lecarde, and he and his sister, June, join forces with Alucard, Julius Belmont, and Sophie Belnades, to whom he falls in love, and vice versa. He wields the Alucard Spear and, like his sister, is a Devil Forgemaster.
The year 1999. The great battle supposedly involved the final defeat of Dracula. It is assumed that Julius Belmont, Alucard, and perhaps others are directly involved in this battle. I know only that the Hakuba clan is also involved, as they are responsible for sealing Dracula and Castlevania within the solar eclipse, as seen in Aria of Sorrow.
The trouble is that Igarashi has yet to show any interest in making a game that covers the great battle. He has said that, besides Lament of Innocence, he thinks of the gameplay factor first, then decides to what part of the timeline it would best apply. So, I guess when he thinks of a proper gameplay mechanic that would suit the battle (and, more likely, when they decide how the story will actually go), we should see it, eventually, with IGA or not.
I'd like to think that since Soma has sort of purged himself of the danger of reincarnating Dracula, him and all his pals will soon have to take on Gabriel, who considers himself Dracula 2.0. I doubt that'll happen, though, since Gabriel seems to be more of an anti-hero even as a vampire than a true genocidal psychopath.
@OgnarPliskin Well, I'm worried that with the new timeline out now, that this one will be abandoned. The creator of Lords of Shadow wanted the game to "violently shred away from the old series" and are already making a sequel. With talk like that, I'm afraid they may be done with this timeline. As much as I liked Lords of Shadows, I still like the original timeline too and want to see it end properly [if they do decide to abandon it] with The Battle of 1999 featured in a game.
@Metalks I agree with you, Lords of shadow was an awesome game and the new storyline seems to be awesome too, but what about all the old games? I think we will never see something new with the ancient style of castlevania, this is like when they made symphony of the night, new characters style, new music, new gameplay...
I will be surely dissapointed if they take away the gothic style of castlevania wich it was so attractive in the series
@Ubrrasachum The director of the game said he thought the original Castlevania games had a, "boyish depictions of vampires and evil." He wanted to do something more dark and and serious.
I love the gothic style too and that's why I play all of the castle levels over and over in LoS, lol...
Now, Germain mentions a 'final battle" between Dracula and the humans. We now as of Aria of Sorrow that it happened in 1999, the year Dracula was finally destroyed for good and his cycle of rebirth stopped. His castle sealed in an Eclipse, thus separating him from his Castle's chaotic flow of power. Could St Germain be involved in the war of '99? After all, he travels through time...
I LIKED this game! I don't care what anybody says about Castlevania in 3-D.. this series will ALWAYS be number one in my book whether it be 2-D or 3-D. I need to go back and play this game! 5/5
"'Faith in the morrow.' Those are fine words. But not for me. As one who travels through time, I see the morrow a bit differently. All the same, the flow of time has stablized at last. Though myself, I think I will go far into the future and see what awaits. There is one great battle yet to be fought: The final battle, between Lord Dracula and the humans. Perhaps they will remember your fight. Perhaps it will start anew." *Tips hat and walks off into time.*
supposedly he would only appear in places where history is going to be made. and warn people who are seated at the highest powers about up coming events. so yes. this man is deffinitely an enigma. but yet so few could ever understand this version of such a character. even i could understand him. he is someone who thinks beyond outside the box. so i guess when this game was still in the process of character development, somebody must have done so much background research for this unique person.
well there is an actual legend of a man that goes by the name, Saint Germain. he is a man who speaks a variety of languages in fluent accents. he was known to be a painter, a musician, an artist. he even made cassanova look like a mere valentines day card. he was known a the man who never dies. nobody knows who he really is. where he comes from. there are no accurate records of him. people claimed to have seen him in several places in differen life times.
He's referring to the battle of 1999, which hasn't actually appeared in a Casltevania game. It is referred to in Aria of Sorrow as the final battle between humans and Dracula, and its scale is global and dramatic. Castlevania itself is sealed away forever after the battle of 1999, and Aria/Dawn of Sorrow are the followup story to that.
probably the events mention in aria of sorrow, which led to julius belmont finally defeating mathias, and having the soul of dracula travel to its new host, soma.
issac got screwed, he died after that long battle, got revived as dracula and died again, then his ex-friend hector ends up screwing his sister, what a raw deal!
Just who is St. Germain? He really is an enigma. A guy who time travels like nothing. Hopefully, he'll appear again in another game, and more about him explained.

Incidentally, Vlad is considered a hero in Romania because he fought against the invading Ottoman Turks. He was extremely brutal towards certain rival lords, the Turks, and foreigners, but his people liked him apparently.
... Saint Germain, you were right... It started a new. But i still think that the Final Battle should be showed!
