Very cool! That's a first for me! The Jays always attack the crows around here too, but I've never seen one try to fit in like that... :) "Uh, yeah... so how's everything with youse?"
They can learn to say a few words, as well as their crow cousins, not as well as parrots though. We have lots of them that drop by the feeders. Crows and jays are very intelligent!
Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a "science geek" and nature freak. I used to read encyclopedias when I was a small child. My particular field of study was animals. I knew those who had them as pets too.
I never saw your reply! But that's awesome! See, you still use all that you learned! I only know stuff about my favorite animals :) I guess that's because I'm not much of a reader...
Big! Yard is fairly large (Knicky Summer vid can tour you) but we live in the rurals on a dead end road and have 72 acres, and all the neighbors have large tracts of land as well beyond us. The last one, 5th place, has 2,000! Seems like there are more horses in this town than people. :)
I had a feeling it was big! Wow! I wish our yard was as big as yours! Ours is only one acre and a fourth :) I love how you say yours is only *fairly* large haha! 2,000 is just unbelievable to me. They must discover new places every day!
It was so funny to see in person. When the bluejay flew off at the end of the video, he was just going to the other side of the driveway. Then they all united again later... it was so cute!
Cute!! I LOVE CROWS!!! We raised one that was knocked out of a nest during a horrific thunderstorm. I could not get him back up. Amazingly after 6 weeks we released him and his parents swooped in and greeted him and started feeding him, even though he was as big as them!
Yeah lol :) I don't know what that bluejay was thinking! He was following them all over the yard and flew off with them too. I filmed it only this morning.
anyone else think of this as a white person trying to be black 0-o

Those are ravens...not crows. Crows are way smaller.
Anyways, cute video. :3

Looks to me like the blue jay was watching the crows to try and keep them out of mischief!

That's really cool, the crows here always try and attack Jays when they see them :(

That was cute! Jays and crows are very closely related. Crows and jays are also highly intelligent birds!
Nice capture.:)

But I always heard: birds of a feather stick together. I guess that depends on the bird :)
