I have an iPhone 3GS and it's the white one, but as soon as I upgraded to iOS 5 it began to overheat within 5 minutes of use without a case which is weird!
I had a 32GB white iPhone 3GS and it never had any problems apart from dust getting under the screen. It was a great phone but space had to be made for the 4 ;)

What is the point of doing a video about defending the iphone 3gs? I'm pretty sure you are not an Apple stockholder. So, doing this only makes you look like a tool, a zombie of the Apple empire. It is pointless to change your phone every 1-2 years, not to mention that the perks that comes along with that upgrade existed 5 years ago. If the consumer wont change the Apple won't change.
@exoaable ah ok thats good you fixed your router problem cause I had the same problem but i got an app called wififofum and it detects all the wifi's including my router so I use tha,t just wanted to share that in case you still had problems!!!
@FunCKC that might be spyware on your phone cause that happens the way to fix this is reset it or get a new phone but first call your phone people things and check with them if it is spyware :(

There is one hugh problem with the Iphone 3gs. You cannot manage your call list with the phone. You cannot delete a single call from recent calls without deleting all the calls. There is no way to sort the call list. The only way around this problem is to jailbreak the iphone.

They are not that good. I have one, and it has a lot of issues. After a couple of months it starts to get bad. Like it will not let you press certain buttons sometimes, when your on a call and you try to end it, it won't end. It freezes sometimes, and your apps on pages disappear a lot.
I also heard about the problem with the white Iphone 3GS of "Hairline cracks" and apparently the warranty that apple gives does not cover that. Hope you can help me make my decision whether I should get the White Iphone or the Black Iphone.

I dont think your statement about the amount of storage capacity is very accurate. If what you say is true ( as in a 32GB hdd will make the iphone overheat) apple would have tested that and either found a solution to it or not made a 32GB model.

i have an iphone 3gs now and i don't have overheating. but then again i leave 3g off because i don't usually need it (bad signal at home) so my advice is turn 3g off when not in use. turn it on when you think you need it. my dad has the overheating problem though. his 3gs gets hot quick. but then again he leaves wifi and 3g on at all times.
also both my dad and I have the icon glitch. i didn't have that problem with my original iphone with 3.0 so its 3gs only. should be fixed in 3.1.

I bought mine on eBay for about 750. I got the White Model 32GB 3G S. I noticed the iPhone gets warm and sometimes very hot. So I sold it on eBay and make more money and selling my old iPhone 3G and bought my iPhone 3G S Black 32GB at my local at&t store for 300 + tax. I've noticed my iPhone doesn't get hot but slightly warm, which is not bad.

the iPhone is essentially a mini computer that has heaps and heaps of untapped potential and now with the 3gs' larger memory and storage even more so. OVERHEATING is a major performance problem with both the CPU and BATT. I notice in a room with ambient temp of about 27c, that when I put the phone on an ice pack performance is much better.apps load faster and the battery lasts longer.
I have a white 32 gig iphone 3g S and my batt is depleting very quickly i can't get through the day with some charge left. I turned off everything basically, except 3G and to keep my battery alive im actually trying NOT to use the phones features because im scared ill miss a call after its dead! but i do use it a little maybe 9-10 times through out the whole day just to reply to some texts and then put it back on sleep.

battery depends on things running and what your doing, like say your using ur iphone to play a game...do you need wifi to play this game? if not turn off wifi that saves battery, change the brightless of your screen to a lower setting, that could save some battery power... i know these are just little things but they help save battery power
I have a 3G 8GB iPhone. Upgraded to 3.0 firmware and had Signal Issues. NO WIFI and Dropped calls. Therefore Downgraded back to 2.2.1 and now I am happy guy!

Downgrading back to 2.2.1 shouldn't work any better with signal because the baseband will still be on the 3.0 firmware...so if you think you're getting better signal your hallucinating. Im an iphone tech btw.

All you need t do for your icon problem is to go into iTunes and un-ckeck the application and sync your phone. Then check the app and re-sync. It should fix the icon. I did this when 2 whole pages of my icons were messed up on my 2G and it worked.

Here's a probem I had: I was working at my workstation and had my 3GS phone sitting on my desk, downloading some app updates whilst listening to the iPod feature. The damn thing was processing so fast that it suddenly starting glowing and went FORWARD IN TIME!!!! I've attempted to contact Apple in regards to my problem but they are telling me that there's nothing they can really do. So now I have to wait till this timeline catches up to the point of my iPhone to get it back. So please beware.
That was a joke everyone... My White 32GB 3GS iPhone is doing just fine. In fact I've not experienced any odd anomalies since getting it. It does get warm from inet usage over 3G and when I'm playing graphic intensive games on it, but no where as hot as some of these reported cases. Just be sure not to leave it sitting up on your car's dashboard while using GPS and be leary of some phone smothering after market cases :) Easily the most versatile phone out and so quick it's not even funny:)

The biggest problem with the iPhone that I found on Sunday at the local ATT store is that they didn't have any 3Gs's any more but they'd be happy to sell me an old one they had in store. The wait time for the new phone is 7-10 days at least.... is this an Apple problem or a ATT problem.

i just bought myself an iphone 3gs and it has no problem connecting to my home wireless connection but there's no internet
however on connecting on other wireless hot spots internet works perfectly

There will be a new iPhone next year June 2010. Remember the original iPhone went on sale June 29th - 07... iPhone 3G (July 11th-08) & iPhone 3G S (June 19th-09)... so we can only imagine the new model will come next year in June or July 2010.

The WiFi on my 3GS is a lot slower in contrast with my 3G or iPod Touch, do you know anything about that. Its mostly noticeable on Youtube and Downloading.

I have a really weird problem when i insert any headphones voice control pops up and the music glitches and the volume goes up and down and if i try to change the volume the device fights with me and stays at where is has been set too could some one help me im a bit concerned

i have a friend that has iphone 3gs and trust me the battery sucks berly lasts for like 2 hours on games and 4hours with movie.... i think the iphone 3gs rocks but the battery sucks and rly the prices i mean come on.... the phone is not werth like that much... atleast not with this kind of battery..

i had the app picture problem. it made globall have the assassins creed picture and messed up 2 others, for some reason the messed up app pics are dull pictures compared to the rest

the iPhone is essentially a mini computer that has heaps and heaps of untapped potential and now with the 3gs' larger memory and storage even more so. OVERHEATING is a major performance problem with both the CPU and BATT. I notice in a room with ambient temp of about 27c, that when I put the phone on an ice pack performance is much better.apps load faster and the battery lasts longer.

I have a white 32 gig iphone 3g S and my batt is depleting very quickly i can't get through the day with some charge left. I turned off everything basically, except 3G and to keep my battery alive im actually trying NOT to use the phones features because im scared ill miss a call after its dead! but i do use it a little maybe 9-10 times through out the whole day just to reply to some texts and then put it back on sleep.
im thinkng its just my phone, or the 3.0 software. Ill wait til 3.1

Actually now i tweaked with some other apps and such digging into every possible setting menu i can find for each and every app and now my battery lasts he entire day with more to spare of course i was still using it a little than normal because it was a test run yesterday and it seemed to work out gud and i listened to some music txtd a lot more and watchd vids and playd a game or 2 briefly unlike befor im very pleased but wile cont. playbck of the ipod it drains 10x quicker thts my only gripe

battery depends on things running and what your doing, like say your using ur iphone to play a game...do you need wifi to play this game? if not turn off wifi that saves battery, change the brightless of your screen to a lower setting, that could save some battery power... i know these are just little things but they help save battery power

I have a 3G 8GB iPhone. Upgraded to 3.0 firmware and had Signal Issues. NO WIFI and Dropped calls. Therefore Downgraded back to 2.2.1 and now I am happy guy!
I hope the 3.1 has all these bugs fixed. I am a PC guy n Very Proud of PCs. But Apple has been Evolving with Software. I hate VISTA and SnowLepard look sick!
I hope apple confirms the 3.1 release before releasing it to the public as ginipigs like PC did with Vista.

Downgrading back to 2.2.1 shouldn't work any better with signal because the baseband will still be on the 3.0 firmware...so if you think you're getting better signal your hallucinating. Im an iphone tech btw.

All you need t do for your icon problem is to go into iTunes and un-ckeck the application and sync your phone. Then check the app and re-sync. It should fix the icon. I did this when 2 whole pages of my icons were messed up on my 2G and it worked.

Here's a probem I had: I was working at my workstation and had my 3GS phone sitting on my desk, downloading some app updates whilst listening to the iPod feature. The damn thing was processing so fast that it suddenly starting glowing and went FORWARD IN TIME!!!! I've attempted to contact Apple in regards to my problem but they are telling me that there's nothing they can really do. So now I have to wait till this timeline catches up to the point of my iPhone to get it back. So please beware.

That was a joke everyone... My White 32GB 3GS iPhone is doing just fine. In fact I've not experienced any odd anomalies since getting it. It does get warm from inet usage over 3G and when I'm playing graphic intensive games on it, but no where as hot as some of these reported cases. Just be sure not to leave it sitting up on your car's dashboard while using GPS and be leary of some phone smothering after market cases :) Easily the most versatile phone out and so quick it's not even funny:)

Had the same problem with the wrong icons appearing but only after jailbreaking so I restored it on itunes, rejailbroke and the problem went away.

The biggest problem with the iPhone that I found on Sunday at the local ATT store is that they didn't have any 3Gs's any more but they'd be happy to sell me an old one they had in store. The wait time for the new phone is 7-10 days at least.... is this an Apple problem or a ATT problem.
