@sonico73 - for microphones, thats why you need an MBOX, mostly for the preamps. Not that you can't use the Eleven for a vocal mic, but you get different microphone pre's with the MBox. Of course I'm not at all bragging about the mic pre's in the Mbox... not at all.

All the Eleven Rack demos sound good, but the plugin isn't quite as good (as far as I can tell). The rack allows you to use real cabs and a real mic so you are just simulating heads. It records a dry track along with the sound you want so if you want to change it later, you can take the dry track and mess around. Overall, this is good if you need a variety of sounds for what you do.

There's better amps sure, but this will get you PAID.

FXpansion makes an VST-to-RTAS plugin adapt. I'm sure it would be no problem for them to make an RTAS>VST as well. It's a shame Digidesign doesn't (and may not ever) allow one to be put out there for us that use other DAW

Less "digititus" than Native's GR3 which always requires a bit to be filtered out around 4kHz and above. Less mushy than Ik's lot, but not as heavy as the dedicated "Metal". Doesn't compete with Ik's Ampeg softie (purposely?). Amp Room stills does things that Eleven can't do, necessarily better. Sounds a lot like GTR3, but less bluesy and more realistic crunchier tones. Leans toward very marked tones (good tones) but doesn't give the depth of "modulation" that NI GR3 does. Won't retire just yet.

Anyway. Nice product Digi. I like where you're heading. Dave's not really a "kaleidoscope" of the guitar tonal spectrum though....maybe someone more marketable could really push this. At least someone in addition to him....

^ yeah good point, Dave's great but again it seems that guitar software amp simulators always (or at least 98% of the time) showcase their heavy metal or hard rock distortion sounds.

I (and many others) am looking for those golden CLEAN tube tones -> fender twins, vox ACs, ampeg reverbrockets, etc., and like most people don't have the dough to go buy all these amps. But amp simulators don't showcase these sounds enough, so it's really hard to see which one offers the best of these sounds.
