  • Thats fuckn awsome I got one looks just like that up here in BC Thinking of putting an outter roll cage on it and maybe 1800+ instead of the 166 dual I got in her now!

  • that thing accelerates quite well

  • that car is SICK! love the tires and it sounds F*cking AWESOME

  • very nice my friend

  • What I love about these cars is parts are easier to find for these cars than my International Harvester pickup truck. They have soooo much character to them, too.

  • You can make it faster with a turbo. =)

  • hi i have a question and i hope its answered. I just wanted to know what the mpg is for a stock 1970 volkswagen baja bug?

  • i always wanted an old beetle like this

  • RHD? I wish I could find one.

  • get from here to there. berlin to farm then berlin. thats about it .:-)

  • German style!! :d cool bug!

  • the motors are easy to wrench on and its realiable for a weekend wheeler for baja or goofin around lol

  • how much did this whole project cost you? im looking into starting my own

  • wat size engine is that?

  • Its a standard beetles 1584cc engine.

Its now been fully rebuilt with twin carbs. Its still pretty low on power compared to a modern fuel injected engine. These cars aren't meant to be fast.

  • nice.. bajas are built for tearing shit up.. speed doesnt matter.. i got a 1983cc in my 1964 baja bug and it only hits about 80mph but its a blast to drive

  • @bugone2 bull shit. i watched a bug do a 8.04 sec run on sunday. dont give me that they werent meant to be fast bs :)

  • @blakiexcharles Something tells me that the Beetle wasn't exactly stock, and probably wouldn't fair all that well off road.

  • @bugone2 i know i was just being the internet bully :p

but i was just saying, they can be fast :)

hell half the sand rails you see are aircooled vws.

    just...slightly...altered. :p

  • @bugone2 Agreeeeed

  • @blakiexcharles

Dont be an idiot you silly child, that probably was NOT even an engine that was offered in any VW. When you take a car, put a turbo's nitrosed american V8 in it for drag racing it isnt the same car idiot! Theres no way on this earth that a VW beetle running the engine it came with [al be it modified] will do an 8 second 1/4, because they simply arnt capable of it. The engines tolerances are not capable by a good 600BHP you idiot! THEY'RE FOR ENJOYING NOT FOR SPEED

  • @LIP15

    look up hector urias.

  • are these cars fast? and do they get good mpg

  • No and no.

  • @bugone2 Really b/c I have a 1970 baja and its got the 1600 and its quick and great on gas, about 37mpg.

  • @bugone2 Really b/c I have a 1970 baja and its got the 1600 and its quick and great on gas, about 37mpg.

  • @bugone2 haha mpg is completley horrific...and no from stock they were slow...40 years later they are even slower :P but thats not what bugs are about. "low n slow" thats how it should be ;)

  • they are not very fast but they do get good mpg!

  • @jazzmusicplayer They get OK mileage stock, but if you do anything to it you're going to ruin it.

  • i live in wisconsin im 16 and i drive a 74 baja everyday except for in the winter cause i spent 3 years restoring it. drives fine for me

  • They are really reliable if you take care of them

  • :58 that sound is why I miss my baja........sniff....

  • alemão bobão!

  • Amazing....... Brings back memories.........

  • almost brought tears to my eys

  • Fucking badass. I would fly through the desert blasting Rammestein

  • thats one mean looking bug bro.

  • this is a sick bug!

  • is that a tilt front end ?

  • slick bug man

  • awesome dude

  • shit, the bug is so damm badass!

  • 5-star from me on your bug!!!whether the engine is still stock, but beetle it still got extreme power to go off-road!!!yeah!!!how do you do the pipping work??

  • what can i do to make mine right side drive ?

  • awesome

  • Darth Vader's Car! COOL

  • great... it sounds like a lawn mower/leaf blower

  • i agree.. lol..

  • cool lil baja! I have a baja video too..

  • I like the all black it looks cool.

  • Can't believe that you are going to change those cool tail lights.

I just put a stinger on my baja. It runs much better with it. I was surprised how much better it did run when I drove it.

  • where did you get your stinger?

  • I just bought the cheapest EMPI stinger and a baffle.

  • Volks tube where did you buy it from?

  • Does stinger exhaust affect performance at all? Or just sound different. My beetle's all stock, and i've been wondering if this is something that i should look into.

  • bad thing about stingers are you can't hear your self think when your driving!

  • wait that's a bad thing? lol

  • is that a 1600 dual port?

  • i got a 73! just got my licence so that means fun time in a bug! mines yellow 4 now, i wanna paint it flat black too! urs is staight thuggn man 4 real! have fun with it peace!!!

  • The Stinger is actually better for a Volkswagen engine. They cause a vacuum that sucks excess air out of the engine. Good choice with going back to the original tallights, but I'd keep it flat black and maybe put some stencils on it (good choice ones that won't get ya pulled over of course).

  • The whole bug is changing pretty soon. The rear lights are going back to standard, its getting a NATO light sand paintjob and its going to get a bike exhaust can.

  • can i have those rear lights then!? :D

  • nice bug, just got my first baja bug last week,

  • fucking awesome!!!

Just change the rear lights to standard and get one of those exhaust caps.

  • "exhaust caps" ??? something to keep the rain out, where do you buy em?

  • just google "rain exhaust cap" ;)
