  • im a member and im also an expert marksman got a patch and everything :) appleseeds are awesome lots of fun

  • 1:16 ok who gave castro a gun.

  • I love at 1:35 the bullet hits the target then ricocheted off into the sky

  • Tracers work both ways.. no seriously that looks awesome!!

  • I'm getting my great grandfathers that he used in ww2 and I want to know where to get those cans of ammo?

  • @lifeisbeautifulbysix thecmp(dot)org

  • My M1 Garand looks brand new compared to those

  • The Japs and Nazis had no chance!

  • Could somebody please tell me where I can get an M1 Garand. I have found originals online for 2500-3000. I want the rifle to shoot not for a collector item; so I am not going to spend the money on one of those just to bang it up and expose it to the elements. If anybody knows a company who makes modern copies of the M1 or pieced together rifles let me know I would appreciate it!

  • @LB7Smoke23 I've got an M1 Garand but you already know where I got.

  • @LB7Smoke23 same here, iv been searching for a long time

  • @LB7Smoke23 She actually tells you exactly where to get one at the beginning of the video. "Saying hi to the CMP". Go to odcmp dot com and click sales. They have them in various grades and prices.

  • Verry verry nice!

    best Regats from Germany :)

  • beautiful

  • Good way to set the grass on fire!

  • Love that rifle.

  • The M1 is BEAST

  • I would seriously take this and a colt .45 over an m16 and a damned Italian m9.

  • man if an M1 GARAND doesn't give you a boner, I dont know what will!

  • wow, very super cool!@

  • Aren't tracer rounds illegal?

  • @superramennoodlejunk Not in Texas!

  • @spitstickler The USMC, taught you to take a half twist with your sling, reattach, and then stick your hand through the sling, back out to the left, and have half a turn of the sling around your left hand, when you griped the foregrip. If sling adjusted right, it would be a tight squeeze to force the butt in against your shoulder. Very stable for long shots.and holding target picture. Everyone qualified at 500 meters, prone position, open sights!! LOL 12bulls/15 shots usual.

  • @spitstickler lmao

  • @spitstickler I'm from California: You name it, it's illegal!

  • @superramennoodlejunk in a few states

  • Nope

  • @superramennoodlejunk I've never heard anything of the sort. I can't see why they'd be outlawed, it's for target acquisition in the dark is all. Then again, the gov. hates citizens being on equal ground so it's certainly possible.

  • I like my AR better lol

  • my father gave me one of these for my 21st bday :D

  • hey i am kind of young like 13 and i was wondering, do 308 rounds have a hard kick? i havent shot many high kick guns and i want to shoot an m1 garand with my dad i just dont know if it will hurt too bad, thanks

  • @tOaShard oh wait i meant m14 not m1 garand, my dad messed up

  • @tOaShard yes the .308 has sum kick but is managable same for the 30-06 eitther way it would knock u down flat on ur bak

  • awesome gun great history but isnt the ammo like 30 bucks for a box of 20?

  • i would have sex with this gun thats how much i love it

  • what do I have to do to earn one of those arm patches?

  • @bigtodd12159 Come to an Appleseed event near you and shoot a Rifleman's score on the AQT. appleseedusa(dot)org

  • Thank God for the Project Appleseed!

  • lol cmp

  • Was that an ORIGINAL M1 Garand Ammo Can from WWII?!?!?!

  • @ryantownsend23 No, it's Greek HXP made in the 70's. Purchased from the cmp as well.

  • I have an M1 Garand.

  • man i love your video........your guys are doing a great work with such a lovley and historical weapon....M1 garands Roxxxxxxxx....thx you for uploading this great video

  • @Cavalrytm God willing you will never need that area for that purpose. November 2012!!

I agree with your other post about the AK. Yes it may be a reliable weapon that shoots a powerful cartridge. But it was and still is used by evil people. Give me an M1/M1a/Mini-14 any day vs. the AK. Just my opinion not trolling.

    Peace.

  • @Cavalrytm "You cannot invade the mainland of the United States there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass..." that quote is supposedly from the Japanese admiral Yamamoto. I say supposedly because there is doubt as to whether he actually said it. Regardless IMO the concept is correct conquering the U.S. would be just about impossible.

    Wolverines!!

  • @RobertKaydoo

Haha, to be honest I've got a little Wolverine operation going on where I live. Anyone tries to take this area and they will pay heavily for it.

  • If I were to join this club, how much would I have to pay for a Garand? Because a friend of mine got a beautiful Korean War-issed M1 for $700 and we shoot it all the time, and I am planning on getting one myself. Either through him, or if you guys have a better deal.

  • @cavalrytm CMP prices are here: thecmp.org/Sales/rifles.htm

  • @cavalrytm m1s are cool but get an ak47 for 500 instead ammos like 20 dollars cheaper too

  • @SamuelSavage777

I know the AK and 7.62 are cheaper, but I'll take the M1. It's just as reliable as the AK, but far more accurate. That, and the M1 is an elegant weapon, a piece of history, and was used by good men fighting for the free world.

The AK was slapped together with no finesse, and has been used by some of the worst people that ever walked the face of the Earth.

No offense, but I want a weapon of honor. That, and you could always get a 30-06 reloading bench!

  • I shooted with M1 and tracers during the military service. It was an awesome busy day!

  • "You cannot invade the mainland of the United States, there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass...."

  • @RobertKaydoo

Where did you get that quote from?

  • before i owned an m1- hey that cool but should be expensive

now i own an m1-crap thats really expenisve

  • Nice video

    Great rifles

  • sexiest rifle around. unfortuanetly, costs a pretty penny, too.

  • @TheRyandanish At the CMP it cost $495. plus $22.95 shipping to your front door. I know people who spend that much on an AK. That's cheap compared to my M14.

  • @Arwrologist what about the ammo? :o

  • @TheRyandanish I'm sending you a PM with a list of suppliers and other options.

  • It seems to be a bit difficult to fire as it appears to recoil to the upper right, however I'd love to shoot one of these!

  • I may have missed it, are you wearing the Creedmoor Canvas coat? I'm in Arizona, and have one on order...hardbacks are just too hot here. :)

  • @tetchy101 I think the lady in the video is wearing a Creedmoor Canvas. I was wearing a cotton Marine style shooting jacket that buttons up. Nice to have the padding on the elbows, but that's about it. Doesn't really support anywhere else. Creedmoor makes the superior coat for sure. I'm waiting on a hardback right now.

  • nice vid, garand m1 top top..........greetings

  • Beautiful country! Where are you at?

  • @spookypunky This is an an dedicated Appleseed range in central TX. (East of Temple)

  • Hope they cleaned all those fine old rifles that same day they fired those tracers in them. Tracers are very corrosive and rifles firing them, for best condition, should be cleaned the same day they are fired or so said an old soldier who I know. Respectfully,

  • @KJV1611ASV1901 You can be assured they did brother. They are all highly trained Riflemen (Sorry Lauren..Riflewomen too) and Instructors.

  • The Garand is grand and you guys ROCK!!!!

  • @gbmcy It was a fun day. Come and shoot with us at Appleseed.

  • @spitstickler

i have to say M1Garand is a great weapon, are you gonna upload a video of a Kar98?

  • @xXxMartin96xXx I have one. Check my channel.

  • @spitstickler

i will, thanks, but my main question because i am a gun-lover

    is the weapon heavy?

  • @xXxMartin96xXx it's about 9.5 lbs.

  • American fire power at it finest. Yes sir the rifle that helped win WW2. 5/5

  • Love the m1 ping sound, but a great disadvantage in WWII.

  • @BeBopDeluxe85 not really. in the heat of battle, it was hardly noticeable. unless the soldier using the Garand was alone in dead quiet conditions, it would not be a notable disadvantage imo.

  • I have a matching numbers '43 and '44 and they are great rifles! Wouldn't trade em for anything!

  • @m11944 I BET YOU WELL TRADE A M1 GARAND FOR 1,000,000 DOLLARS AND BUY A NEW M1 GARAND THEN TRADE IT FOR 2,000,000 DOLLARS THEN BUY 2 M1 GARANDS THEN TRADE THEM FOR 3,000,000 DOLLARS THEN BUY THREE M1 GARANDS THEN TRADE IT FOR 1,000,000,000 DOLLARS THEN BUY 1,000,000 M1 GARANDS :P

  • @TheRaidersfan21 Haha very slim chance anyone would offer me that kind of money for mine! But I'd still have to think about it!

  • Beauuuuuuuu----tiiiii------fuuuuuuuuullll! :)

  • Mines an all-original numbers-matching '43 that I still put rounds through.

  • 1:23 Starwars

  • a solid and powerful m1 garand *__*

  • Anyone know if civilians are able to purchase ammunition in a can like that?

  • @luvs2puff yep, if you are set up to buy rifles from the cmp, you can buy the ammo from them as well.

  • This is oryginals guns???

  • This is oryginals guns??

  • This is oryginals guns?

  • @kacper1101 they are old production. The one I have the barrel and receiver are 1955. The other parts are from various years of production.

  • All ready on the firing line.... FIURRHH!

  • PING the sound the fascists hate.

  • @liveecarbme They actually loved it: it meant that someone on the other side was out of ammo :D

  • @KingOfNormans unless someone just bounces an empty off a rock

  • @liveecarbme actually they loved it when they were outta ammo

  • @liveecarbme Why would they hate the ping sound it lets them know when an allied rifleman needed to reload.

  • @liveecarbme TELL THAT TO THE FASCISTS THAT RUN THE USA

  • Tracers are awesome

  • 1:23 Happy 4th of July.

  • how really accurate is this gun? 1 MOA? wanna get one and would love some info on this gun.. thanks guys!

  • @aroccop accurate up to at least 50 yards.

  • @Pimpmastahanhduece

The fuck? Maybe if you're Michael J. Fox.

  • @SpartanM621 maybe if you use the sights and a steady hand. Look up the taking of the beach at Normandy, in order to press forward, allies mostly stocked with m1 garands had to shoot completely across the beach from the time they stepped off the boat, into the crevices which the germans shot from the bunkers. From the sea wall, the distance to the bunkers was about 200 yards. This is why so many allies died, they were fighting with large numbers and alot of hit and misses.

  • @SpartanM621 and due to half the troops not being experienced in combat.

  • @aroccop Its extremely accurate, with the right ammo, accurate enough to get a 6 inch grouping of 8 shots at 600 yards.

  • i want a m1 soo bad im plannin to get one when im old enough and out on my own.

  • i think they should still use them today

  • Are those government surplus tracer rounds? I tried some surplus tracers in my Garand once but none of them worked. They were headstamped 1952 so maybe they were just too old. Nice video, looks like a fun day! :-)

  • I wish i could get an M1... $1000 or more is a wee bit expencive

  • @Gunnut321 If you go through the CMP you can get a good shooter grade M1 for $500. Message me if you are interested, it's a great program.

  • awesome, im gonna get some acid, some gun and some of those fun bullets, and make her say :O

  • This is my favorite M1 Garand video out of all the other ones I've watched! I really like the tracers, and that bassy sound of the gun shots. I also like the nice people in the video, just out having a great time.

  • Love the video. Wish I could legally own one of these great weapons in my home country.

  • nice shooting. come and see my World war II weapons in action

  • 1:38 WTF?????

  • @mindlessprimitive Richochet

  • 2827 ft per second baby!!! LUUUUUUV a Garand.

  • Classic, with a sense of history and respect for the firearm.

  • looks like fun you guys

  • I laughed at 0:15

Sounds funny, looks funny, but that is a very cool ammunition box.

  • "The sound of freedom!"

    It's a beautiful sound, too.

  • very cool man! very cool!

  • excellent tracer footage.

  • at :43 isn't that a dangerous practice to keeps one thumb beside the M1 while shooting? The op rod could come back and snap it. I don't mean to nit pick but I'm just curious and yes I can see the shooter has modified his grip on the rifle.

  • awesome tracers guys

  • Ooorah Patriots!!! :-)

  • anybody see that tracer at 1:37???

  • Love it from 1:23!!

    Awesome stuff there!

  • omg look at that ricochet! thats crazy at 1:31

  • 1:32 a bullet hit another bullet?

  • @Titleification Probably hit an angled surface on the ground.

  • Gotta love tracers :)

  • What a great vid.

As the gent said at the end, "the sound of freedom!"...so very true.

Please do more like this--sound, picture and editing were very good.

    Thanks Appleseed~!

  • What happened with the Korean Garands that were supposed to come back home?. Google doesn't bring anything definitive.

  • @malcolmry

oh and also, that looked to have been a particularly fine day.

  • @malcolmry Obama stopped them, saying they could end up in the wrong hands. I wonder who he is talking about?

  • @WeTheLibertyLovers Well if they go straight to the CMP and gun stores around the country, I dont see how they could end up in any "wrong hands". The only bad guy (unintelligent) here is Obama.

  • first rifle i ever shot i love it my neighbor shot national match with it for the corps back in the 60s

  • @AirsoftPaintball94 Have you been to an Appleseed yet?

  • awesome tracers! good shooting gents and gal...

  • Is there an appleseed in the Pittsburgh, PA area? BTW, the tracer footage was awesome LOL.

  • @no4mk1shooter a fulle schedule of events is at: appleseedusa(---dot---)org

  • @spitstickler if i go to the saturday shoot only does that still qualify me or do i have to go both days i am signed up for this saturday i need to know if i should order for the sunday because one of the reasons for me going is to get a Garand.

  • I gotta ask, what camera are you recording with, and do you have any additional audio equipment? If so, what are you using?

The reason I ask this is because unlike most videos and even professional sound recordings of firearms, you capture the thump/boom that you hear when firing a rifle in person. I am an audio engineer and would love to know what this was recorded with so I can make more realistic recordings in the future. Awesome video, by the way. Looked like you guys had alot of fun.

  • @daveofdefeat It's pretty simple setup. FlipUltra HD and a tripod. No extra audio equipment. There are a few still images mixed in that were shot with a Canon 300D and a 70-200 F4L lens.

  • is this a good first rifle and how is the recoil

  • @spmexican214 Its a great rifle, very accurate, powerful, and extremely reliable, the recoil is relativly light, for a high powered rifle, its a smooth, predictable recoil, easy to become acustomed to.

  • Orion 7 enterprises seems like a good place to buy an m1 garand there garands are tested for accuracy unlike the cmp. and you get a warrenty

  • I'd like to know how to get a discount

  • CMP, Civilian marksmanship program. I'd love to get a good M1 garand.

  • this is so American, i have no words to describe it

  • Lonewolf

Exactly if the gun shots don't zero in on a gi then I'm damn sure the ping won't do it... Haha but troop did drop a empty enbloc when it was quiet so the axis would assume they were empty

  • How much does it drop the prices? A service is 595 what is it after the " price drop"

  • @95000026 there is no price drop. It's just that buying from the CMP is much cheaper than buying from just about anywhere else. (The service grade you mentioned sells for over $1k at most of the gun shows around here.) The RWVA membership and attending an Appleseed event knocks out two of the qualifications for purchase through the CMP.

  • fun vid, thanks for posting. I need to find a few local friends with M-1 and a nice chunk of land for a day of shooting like that myself.

  • Love the sound the M1 makes! -Nax

  • @NaxTactical KaaPING!

  • Funny how the uneducated folks say the ping was ued by the enemy to zero in on soldiers who were out......trouble is, you CANT hear the ping, even a quiet field like this, and right behind the firing line, you still can hardly hear it, let alone on the opposite side of the field.

  • Those tracers are bad ass!

  • AWESOME!!! Thanks CMP for my Service Grade Garand!!!

  • hello from france

  • What was the backdrop you guys were shooting at? It couldnt have been soft considering the amount of ricochets seen with tracers. Tracer rounds are so awesome!

  • @sl66ICEcuba We were shooting at a 20" steel plate (you really can't see it in the video) The larger white objects are 3' x 4' backer boards that didn't have any targets on them. There is a large dirt berm behind the target line.

  • @spitstickler Thats weird to see that many ricochets on a safe backdrop...

  • nothing beats a good rifle....

in a gunbattle the expression is " you fight your way to a rifle" if need be

famous quote ,but i forgot who said it...sorry..!

  • Whats Appleseed?

  • @5564576239: Project Appleseed teaches the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and intertwines these skills with the history and heritage of our great nation. Rifle skills are becoming a lost art in modern America, but we feel that they are as important today as they were on April 19th, 1775 when the first shots were fired on Lexington Green. Weekend events are held nationwide. Check out: appleseedinfo(dot)org for more info & current schedule of events.

  • the guy from the left was not using an m1 granad

  • Tracers are awesome.

  • The tracer shots part of the vid were extemely cool!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done!!
