Yes he is and isn't. He is a true descendant of Kuran and was raised as her brother. Although yes they are meant to get married because purebloods 'interbreed' as to keep the pureblood blood line going as such. He was sort of resurrected by Rido Kuran, that's why he can't kill him as he's his sort of master thingy. Rido is Yuuki's uncle. Read the Manga if you don't beleive me.

Nothing I've found is as good as Vampire Knight, not even close, but you could try some vintage anime like Vampire Princess Miyu, Lunar Legend Tsukehime, NightWalker, or Master of Mosquiton, although that's really more of a comedy. Trinity Blood's animation is gorgeous, but not enough romance! Someone needs to do an anime of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, although that's almost all romance without any "vampire action", if you know what I mean---no love bites:(
