You can shoot anywhere.Some places are easier than others. Japan is a great place for street photography. Russia too. America is probably the worst place because 99.9% of people here are the same. But I've gotten some good photographs here. I'm going to Germany soon and I can only imagine that it would be an awesome place to shoot because the German people are so unique. The best way to get a good photograph, just keep shooting. Gear doesn't matter either. It's the photographer, not the camera.
@AllanGeeRusky Germany is a nice place but the laws are so bad for street-photographers... If you ask me, i shit on the German laws and show some pics on the internet :D
sobrang miss ko na ang streets of Manila! Especially Quiapo, Ongpin and Divi...as well as shooting in its streets. 'Love street photography! mahirap nga lang dito mag-kukukuha sa Kabul. but i got a few hopefully more...cheers from Afghanistan =)
@luisliwanag because Germans are mean unless they're drunk. Not all of them, but most of them are ridiculously selfish and self obsessed and suffer delusions of their own importance; at least, this has been my impression as an American living here for 2 years. Not all of them; heck, I married one of them. But even as a lot of Americans are uneducated and - how shall we say- uncultured? - and more prone to McDonalds pigouts, I have this impression of many, many Germans.
@michaelandcarina I'm sorry to hear that, but let me assure you that we are, generally speaking, not mean people at all. Quite the opposite is true. The stereotypical german might not be as demonstratively open hearted as an average US american, but if we are, we really mean it. Apart from that, if any adjective matches our attitude, it'd be "curious". You mileage may vary, i know lots of pricks around here ;)

im sad that you cannt do street in germany :( i hate it.
NikkLJs 1 year ago
@NikkLJs of course you can.
street photography captures the "feel" and athmosphere of the urban envirenment with the people in it.
And this "feel" is different, in different places.
