how much bleach and hot water should you use, I am scared of messing things up. My pipe gets blocked up with algae a lot.

what do you if you don't have that clean out access to your drain? my drain pipe goes straight across there's no way to pour bleach and water into the pipe...

@veksink : If there is space, add or have someone add a vertical pipe in your system. PVC is pretty easy to work with. The pipe entrance must be higher than the drain pan in the air conditioner to avoid spilling if the line backs up.

I am having to call an a/c repairman to my house today because my overflow pan keeps filling up. We have poured bleach in the drain, but one month later it is blocked again. Water seems to not be going in the drain at all, just sitting in the unit and draining out the pipe that goes into the pan and through the bottom of the unit.

If it is blocked just use a shop vac and it will clean the drain out, also you can use it to clean up the water :)
