  • Lobbying is a political corruption that will destroy America. Government can only be effective if they are not influenced. Lobbying should be banned and Congress members receiving lobbying money should be prosecuted. So who can end lobbying? Congress...wait isn't Congress bought out anyways? So if every member in Congress is making big money, HOW DO CONGRESS MEMBERS feel the struggle of a middle class American. I mean if all your friends have a lot of money, all you want is a tax cut.

  • Congress prostituted America away = TREASON

Americants are not at the liberty to elect an American as the PIMP is selected ahead of time to manage their prostitutes as they are TOLD who is so called electable should be a clue, this is all a sick game on the gullible peoples liberty.

  • Still waiting for the political video I come across that doesn't have a comment about Ron Paul.

  • i hate him

  • Paul-Sanders 2012

  • @dmcarefuldriver The fact that a double team of a Libertarian and a Socialist makes the most sense right now is like something out of bizzario world.

  • @dmcarefuldriver Karl Marx-Adam Smith 2012

  • Lobbyists Are Cancer Producing Parasites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • politics are stupid your stupid and immature if your interested in politics o and your boring and uninteresting

  • @JohnnyBarmony somebody has to be into politics, if nobody was into politics you would be homeless eating your own shit right now u stupid fuck

  • @bobwhite757 Obviously you're a political person... have fun with that. Wow guess what... you are soooooooooooooooo cool!

  • I like poop

  • Share more people have not found this.

  • Anyone that voted this down is a Lobbyist pig.

  • Shitstained republicans should be barred from governing. Republicans leave shitstains that cannot be washed out without some serious cleaning solutions. All shitstained republicans should be wiped out of congress so we can have actual discussions to go forward. Shitstained republicans and shitstained teabaggers ARE the problem in Washington. Shitstained do nothing republicans!

  • Democracy is a myth.

  • @GuiR3X

only when the people in america let it happen...

  • The system of appointing the judges should be abolished. The judges must be elected and serve until the pension age of 65, then retire. The consitution must be changed so members of congress and the house can not be elected for more than 2 terms. Only people can donate money for candidates, not businesses, and there should be a limit. Thus we will have a democracy, not a plutocracy.

  • The party system should be abolished in Senate and House of representatives. All decisions shiuld be the subject of the personal informed opinion and conscience, never along the party lines or stand on something. Ideology is never a good tool of effective management and governance.

  • Lobbying system should be abolished. It dies not answer the challenges of the times. The corporations should send their concerns, like everybody else, by mail or by a call to the congressional office. No private chit-chats. The meetings can be allowed only on the committee's basis and officially recorded. Any decisions made and the names of the senators involved should be instantly made public.

  • How awesome would it be if this guy's elected president and Faux News go on a rant about the president being a "damn socialist," and all he does is answer "Why, yes I am" with a smug expression on his face?

  • The problems we are having here in America with the corrupt politicians who want to turn America into a military controlled dictatorship, are not unique to America. People all over the world need to work together, join together... it's time 4 a world-wide revolution where we need 2 publicly execute all of these politicians n bankers who r responsible 4 this corruption. It doesn't matter what nationality you are, we r all n this together, forget religion, n petty politics, it's time 4 revolution.

  • Yooo, Thats my senator!! VT Baby

  • @BobSlydell100

    I'm jealous.

My Senator is Boxer. While she has her political positions correct, I personally don't like her arrogance.

  • @gundamWWW We need more people with Bernie's passion for human rights!!

  • Yeah the problem with the majority of U.S. Senators is that they talk about great America was in the past and they want to restore the former glory. Then they go complain about the human rights violations in other countries. Sanders is the only Senator as of 2010, who has a future vision of America for the 21rst century, where all Americans are treated with respect and dignity. Instead of going abroad and looking for human rights violations, he address human rights at home. That's a good person!

  • Bernie Sanders fuckin rules!

  • it happened Barney, too late....

  • too bad all our congress people can't be like Bernie Sanders

  • personally raising money for the Senators/Congressman I like. I have Bernie Bumper stickers. 10% will be Donated to Senator Sanders. This guy rocks!!

  • Getting rid of Industry Lobbyists may never be a possibility, however, passing a law that says that the "People" either get to see any meetings via YouTube, etc. between a lobbyist or get to have a representative who legally has to be able to spend as much time with the congressman or is present at that meeting and can be a part of the discussion.

  • Starting with acknowledgement to Mr. Sanders for professsional grade work, I ask how is it that we are discussing HealtCare, Pharmaceutical & Financial as though separate and distinct issues? At a minimum, the broad advertising and intake of pharmo-active materials could be related to apathetic non-participation could be that the Congress only doing what is asked of them. { i.o.w. do-nothing }

  • Senator Sanders raises a good point. Without the ability of our vote to outweigh the power of corperate spending we have no freedom to vote as a result. This issue needs to be fixed and the supreme court needs to get their heads out of their asses.

  • USA is an imperialist state.

    SHAME ON YOU USA !

  • Hello! If you are concerned about the Jan 21, 2010 Supreme Court ruling on unlimited corporate funding of political ads like I am search on YouTube for Corporations Aren't People. They are running a viral video contest to get people feelings about this. There is a $200 first prize. This issue has me so concerned I created a video and posted it on YouTube for the first time. Seeing other people post comments gives me us. Smart and Good Hearted People unite to let the voice of people be heard.

  • USA has supported the Armenian terrorism.

    SHAME ON YOU USA

  • Your country violently invaded Constantinople in the 15th century.

    SHAME ON YOU TURKEY

  • two party system is a distraction its meant to divide the electrolate, while those that paid their way to office pick our pokets. elected officials are used to tell us why wesh ould except this or that and to cloud issues. we are controlled by the notion that we have it good. good is the enemy of better and great

  • The limits for giving directly to candidates didn't change, only the censorship of Free Speach right before an election.

  • thats not quite correct. corporations/unions can now donate directly from their treasuries, rather than setting up PACs.

corporations shouldnt be afforded free speech rights...they arent human...

  • @EnhancementSmoker

IIRC, there are still limits on contributions to candidates, the change is that they can now buy ad time within 30 days of an election.

  • The one word that best describes the US Congress is corrupt. Money corrupts, and our "representatives" need huge amounts to get re-elected. Since most ordinary voters can only make very small contributions to campaigns the pols rely on monied interests. So who in the end do the pols represent? Of course...the monied interests.

  • The biggest expense of any political campaign is TV advertising. If Congress (or the FCC) could create the public-access equivalent to CSPAN that does nothing but give major-party candidates free airtime, that could go a long way to leveling the playing field and getting the big-money out of politics.

The biggest hurdle is that those with deep pockets will still be able to purchase network airtime, and the 1st Amendment prevents limiting that.

  • @BI30 I know the average citizen is only allowed to give 20,000 at once to a candidate, but are corporations limited in what they can give?

  • I believe the individual cap is only $2,000. Corporations are also considered "people", so they have the same cap.

I may be wrong, but the problem is "soft money" (given to the Party instead of the candidate) which is nearly unlimited. Worse, they can "earmark" their donations so it benefits only a particular candidate. Nice little loophole for those with deep pockets.

  • I have read the comments that have been made so far and agree with some of them , however. Don't look at small issues .The major issue is that he is speaking about , and fighting against human greed at it's finest . I have never heard of this guy before , but i respect him . If youy want a better existance , it starts with the mirror .

  • Gosh I was thinking if the top broadcasting companies reserved time for free political campaigns could that help solve this problem at least a little bit.

  • I disagree with a lot of his views but he is one of the few Democrats that seem to welcome debate and that I respect.

  • I'm a libertarian, but I love this man because he has integrity. Give Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders and let them work out their differences.

  • The Presidential Debates were controlled and manipulated by the major networks. Which is totally fucked.

See Kucinich, Gravel and Ron Paul's debate experiences. All three kicked by the networks out of the debates... and Kucinich fought back with a court order.. and was shut down again when the network had the courts decision overturned. The whole country is bought not just Congress.

  • You are so right, and I pray that things change in my lifetime.

  • @michaelchainsaw i am trying to get a great panel, jesse ventura, ron paul, gravel, kuniuch and sanders.

  • Go Bernie!

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." - Thomas Jefferson

  • I don't think it have any thing to do with lobbyist. I know it is the companies that own this country.

  • There are 237 millionaires in US Congress, that's 44% of representatives compared to 1% of Americans overall.

Richest is California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa with a net worth estimated at about $251 million. That's what Politico article "Report: 237 millionaires in Congress" says.

  • Dump the US dollar it can no longer function at the world level it is tainted due to regulations have been removed .

The world is now moving to another currency the gangster in America will leave you all in the gutter of the third world soon if you do not knock some sense into them.

  • Until Americans rise up and hang the treasonous politicians who are selling them down the river yes hang them until death as a warning for the future politicians until then Americans will continue to be raped gutted and looted.

AS the rest of the world looks on and laughs.

Ron paul, Bernie Sanders, and a few others aside the vast majority are bought and paid for they do treasonous things

sell the people out sell the country out

time is running out for the American people to act .

  • We have been shanghai'd by the corporatists. They claim that campaign contributions are free speech. This is stinkin' thinkin'. Speech is something you say. Speech is not something you do. If we all get this straight, I think we'll all be better off.

  • Man, I feel better!

  • This god damn country requires one thing....A GIANT F_ _ _ _ _ _G BRAIN ENEMA!

I have never been witness to so much useless bullshit being produced by so many people at one time.

This is like watching some sort of Saturday Night Live skit and you are sitting there hoping that the f _ _ _ _ _ _g thing just isn't real.

I am just waiting for Christopher Walken to come on stage as the President, launch the f _ _ _ _ _ _ g rockets and scream....MORE GOD DAMN COW BELL!

    This is insanity

  • Boomer, I feel the exact same way.....it seems like a giant brain sucking machine was used while we were sleeping....Glad you're feeling better, welcome to the club..!

  • Here is what the American people need to do.

Every American needs to shit can, vote out of office, every Congressman and Senator over 50. Why? Because when they reach that age as a politician they are bought and paid for by the special interest groups and lobbyist. They become useless.

Vote out every one of them over 50 in both parties because they are nothing but hacks and opportunist looking to maintain their positions and keep their connections.

    AND THEY ARE ALL F_ _ _ _ _G LAWYERS.

  • They need to repeal "the Commodity futures modernization act" passed 12/15/2000 this along with the gutting of Glass Steagall in 1999 both pushed through by Gramm R Texas These two pieces of legislation were the root cause of the subprime melt down and stock market crash

  • Time to get rid of Industry Lobbyists.

  • @solopony7 There's more lobbyists than politicians, good luck.

  • @solopony7 According to the Supreme Court, that's Unconstitutional! ROTFL! The Average American is BONED!

  • As far as FDR and the Depression...his programs were working and things getting better until he listened to economists and cut the budget - then the Depression took another dip - statistics don't lie friends. World War II pulled us out, because the Government spent money in the economy and had a large jobs program called the Army, Navy, AirForce, and Marines - if it can be done in wartime it can be done in peacetime. America, Germany, Japan, Britain all developed in opposition to free marketism

  • there's a book called "How to Lie with Statistics" which was a college text at CU.

Facts are facts, statistics are NOT facts but may be portrayed in a myriad of amazing variety and as propaganda.

  • Really? And, your point relevant to my FACTS I provided as well - is? I suppose your denying that in the late 30s the Depression was easing and the economy on an uptick, then on advice from 'classical economists' Roosevelt cut the budget to try for balance, and poof - the Depression got worse again - or that WWII did not pull us out of the Depression - or that Government did not spend a dime - or that the TVA and other works did not provide jobs? What is you're point then? Enlighten us...

  • Mr Sanders, why do you think companies pour so much lobbying money into the hands of willing Congressmen? Because people like you have far too much control over economic activity in this country. Perhaps if Congress limited itself to its CONSTITUTIONALLY MANDATED authority instead of regularly operating outside such necessary constrictions, the temptation to buy influence would be much reduced.

You can't pile this much horse manure in one place and expect the flies not to congregate.

  • lol..mighty...Start reading Hamilton to get a view of what Congress is suppose to do with economic activity. Then study American history, about what the original GOP did to build our rails, promote industrial expansion, regulate the banks, stop monopolies and so on. Then goto FDR and the greatest generation, and study the 2nd Bill of Rights and Four Freedoms they believed in - and see the prosperity and middle class created due to FDR's reforms until they were dismantled starting 1970s.

  • Northmeister, read the book:

    Hamilton's Curse

    by Professor Thomas DiLorenzo

Hamilton worked for the European Bankers and the crown (not the king). He was the opposite and political enemy of Thomas Jefferson.

Jefferson kept Hamilton around because he attracted British loyalists to the new gov't and foreign money investment to a young struggling nation.

    Hamilton = Central Gov't (statist)

    Jefferson = Personal Liberty/Responsibility

  • Reading DiLorenzo is like reading a history book about capitalism from the Soviet Union...nonsense...and Nuts!

  • Northmeister,

FDR did nothing to create prosperity. His programs prolonged and exacerbated what would have been a moderate recession into a ten-year depression. Social Security was nothing more than a vote-buying scheme designed to capitalize on the desperation of the times, and to begin the creation of the dependent voter class. The man was a closet facist who idolized Stalin.

Hamilton? Don't make me laugh. He was the progenitor of today's "can't keep their hands off the economy" statists.

  • Statists...lol Mumbo jumbo from libertarians who've never built a nation, attack Lincoln and our heritage; despise the very principles America was built upon - and worship at the altar of Smith, Ricardo, Hayek, and Mises....should of known; where that view of 'reality' comes from - Thank Goodness American history was made of better stuff.

  • You mean, apart from the libertarians that built THIS nation? You are completely deluded. Even the libertarians of today never dreamed of the kinds of freedoms we had in the first century of this country's history.

  • You sir, mistake our Founder's love of liberty as they understood it, in personal matters relating to ones right to speak, publish, worship, justice before a court, innocence (see Bill of Rights) - from the misguided notions of libertarians that somehow they meant liberty in economy. Jefferson is often quoted or looked to - but in office his Treasury Secretary Gallatin endorsed protectionist tariffs..not libertarian dogma. Our Fathers were not dogmatists. Hamilton/Gallatin was their economics.

  • I agree with you on personal freedom - I look to what made America prosperous on economics. Hamilton to Clay to Lincoln all believed in government intervention and supervision; this lead to T.R. and anti-trust/workers rights/regulation of industry for consumers/health. In essence America combined Jefferson/Hamilton under Lincoln, and this was picked up by FDR. That is fact, it is historic truth - your side calls Clay a Nazi, Lincoln a communist , FDR..- that tells us a lot about libertarianism.

  • northmeister is a progressive revisionist.

His ilks dogma twists history into MORE = change Obamanation BS.

Lincoln ignored the Constitution and caused the Civil War as mechanical innovation was making slavery obsolete anyway. (it was about States Rights and Rule of Law).

Wilson allowed the Fed so Congress had unlimited fiat currency.

FDRs spending turned a recession into the Great Depression and only WWII got us out.

There can be NO personal liberty without economic freedom.

  • robert rubin, larry summers and phil gramm killed glass steagall during bill clintons' presidency.

CONgress will not investigate obamas' buddy summers, that is why.

  • No, Mr. Sanders!

No, it was NOT deregulation that caused this economic mess. It was the Fed's artificially manipulating interest rates, easing loan criteria and easy fiat money coupled with YOUR Community Reinvestment Act and Progressive-Corporatist Central Planning BS.

YOU created the ENVIRONMENT that promoted Wall Street's malfeasance and malinvestment.

Wall Street just gambled knowing that Crony Progressive Politicians like YOU would bail them out if they lost.

    It's YOUR FAULT!

  • Mostly you're full of bullshit - but your comment about the Fed reminds us that even a broken clock is right twice a day.

  • yakyakyak....Really? Seems to me that if you look at statistics since thee 1970s, and the shrinking Middle Class, the loss of industrial strength (one source of true wealth), the end to the doubling of living standards passed on to new generations, the end of the American Dream for millions. Deregulation, Privatization, Free Trade (really just giving corps. the power to make it there with slave labor/pauper labor and sell it here for greater profits), and free markets caused the mess..wow.

  • Northmeister, Research Corporatism and discover how it is different from FREE market capitalism and is in fact closer to Central Planning Social-Fascism.

It was not Deregulation, it was Corporatism or Directed Regulation crafted to aid Congressional corporate benefactors at the expense of both the small business and the taxpayer.

Progressivism IS Crony Capitalism also known as Corporatism.

    Research & Learn!

  • yakyak...stop the labels and look at real history...America's ideals are in direct opposition to libertarian thinking. It is incredible how much the DiLorenzo's of the world attack our greatest thinkers and leaders if they disagree with their theories and beliefs. Because you've been blinded by libertarian nonsense, you like the communists and nazis fail to realize just how ridiculous your assestments are - even in the face of an economic disaster you're ideals created...lol Nuts!

  • I exercise my 'democratic' right on one day every four years.

But as a lobbyist I could exercise my 'democratic' right every day of every year... hmmmm...

  • you need tons of money.

  • The 'american dream' is nonsense for the vast majority of people.....tax the hell out of the fat cats and use the money to provide some security for your average people. Do what every other wealthy industrial nation has been doing for half a century. The average citizen deserves a break.

  • Its not just the corporations donating to congress.

The Federal Reserve also contributes considerably!

    DID YOU READ THAT!

The Federal Reserve...the very institution that creates money. Corporate donations are a side effect of this corruption.

  • corporate donations are not a side effect of the fed- corporate donations polluting our system occurred before the fed even existed. go study the gilded age right after the civil war.

also, have a nice day :)

  • I would really vote for Sanders if he would opt for the presidency of the USA.

    I wish he would

  • pwpg: you can always write him or anyone else in on your ballot.

  • awesome see? I did not know that rofl!!!

  • Senator Sanders,

Don't you want the money from those direct campaign contributions?

    Anyways, Thank you doing this!

  • Hey jkjnt69 you have to be one ignorant piece of work. Go crawl back under the repuck rock your crawled from under.

  • Why do you make such a frivolous comment, and embarrass yourself?

  • O.K. "jukejoint69" you must be filthy rich and got mommy and daddy to pay for your overpriced education. Now when you feel the time is right you'll try to get elected into our corrupt government so you can get your hands on that lobby money and continue to screw the hardworking people at the bottom!

  • Refuse: that isn;t gonna happen anymore you will see... We are all waking up... and we are all really pissed

  • Can you please translate this video into multiple languages and broadcast it at prime time in all countries for one month??? Please.

Lobbyism has been existing for ever. But it's overflowing and becoming a serious problem.

  • I never suggested that all government is bad. What is fact is that our monetary/econmic policies are what allowed the GD to occur. It wasn't simply a case of a few unscrupulous characters on Wall Street who plundered investors.

You obviously have a limited view of what government should be. By using the word "can" you seemingly put faith in government based on the hope that they'll do right by you. Meanwhile, you work 1/4 of your life, just to pay Uncle Sam.

    Good luck with that.

  • so you call this democracy???

is this the type of democracy US wants to bring to other countries?

  • No, I don't call it democracy. We really have an oligarchy here.

  • Senator Sanders is the only politician I have ever heard discuss this issue which is by far THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE OF OUR DAY because it absolutely controls everything else. Corporate "contributions" are really criminal bribes which have been made legal. No corporation gives away any money in order to foster "good government". They expect and get a quid pro quo. Congress wont reform itself. The citizens can only vote out all incumbents, from top to bottom. That might help.

  • medliberty is right.Congress is not going to reform itself. VFW,FRA,American Legion, LaRaza, Acorn, all of these groups lobbie heavily. In elections outlaw private money, limit the election to six months free advertising in print and film media for all candidates equally, with tax incentives for the media, and finally, term limits to two terms acrossthe board. Limiting lobbiests might sound good, but it is constitutional, and congress thrives on the money. How much has Sanders received?

  • This is a man of Integrity.

Fox news have him on their sh*t list.

I can think of no higher recommedation for listening to what he has to say.

  • He is telling it as it is. Nobody can buy him. We should listen to him while we still can!

  • he is one of the good ones

  • He is incredible. Thank you Senator for all of your hard work !

  • I am proud to have him as my senator. He will not take shit and he is the only honest politican in america.

  • What about Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich? He also doesn't take big money, he also is one who truly serves the people and sometimes puts his own political career at risk doing so. He's one of the very few good ones out there. Grayson also looks like he's one of the better ones so far, but he's very new yet.

  • Yes Dennis is a great guy too.

I already know who I am gonan vote for this coming congress elections.. Baucus is one that is going OUT as well as all of those blue dogs dems

  • Baucus's next election is in 2014. We will all have forgotten about all of this by then.

  • I will do my best not to let myself and all the people I can to forget about this

  • We should protest! Oopps can't do that anymore, you'll get arrested. Ex-presidente Zelaya was run out of Honduras, when he proposed a non-binding referendum, but he's back. Now the Honduran Constitution has been suspended, eliminating free speech, free transit, free press, etc. It'll happen here next.

  • To the question, How much is enough?, Rockefeller responded, Just a little more than I have. Taxes dont go anywhere except to the IMF to fund anything except Communism and terror, but lets face it, what is Communism but state-owned/ controlled everything. The state

now owns the securities on your body, your house, your automobile, your marriage, your children, your

    property, so dont pretend we dont live under Communism we do;

  • It's difficult to impossible to boycott monopolies.

  • Nader, Paul warned everyone

    The parties over

  • Yeah we could go after all the lobbyists (impossible, as every time you write your congressman you become a lobbyist) OR we could just pay attention to the 500 people running our government and start voting them out of office.

  • We need a new business form under the control of the states to end run both Congress and Senate and the Supreme Court on just what WE THE PEOPLE control. You can't have the Federal/Facist Corporatacracy continue without destroying the country. If you want a business and you don't want to have limited liability and hold yourself to be an upstanding entity then become a sole proprietor or partnership and be responsible.

  • I support the separation of Corporation and State.

    Don't "Write Your Congressman"

    Write your Corporation.

  • .. better yet, don't even interact with them at all .. just advocate a boycott of their products and services .. but the boycott cannot be over trivialities.

  • GOOD one waterflaws!

  • VIVA LA RESISTANCE

    ANTIFA 100%

  • Stay scared. Stay sick.

  • Is it really a democracy if I can't vote on issues, but only people....who might have their own agendas? Why do I have to vote for a president and a bunch of subsidiaries to fight over issues? Moreover, there can be a special election for members of congress, but not a special election for major issues? How does that make sense?

  • It doesn't make sense until you realize the truth that we do not live in a democracy where the people decide directly. We live in a republic which is a representative form of government. The founding fathers did not have faith that the "common man" is educated enough to make decisions that would benefit the country as a whole, so they set up a republic instead.Times have changed, infomation is readily available. Direct representation is quite possible with good information.

  • to some extent the California Referendum process is one form of direct representation.

  • I don't give a damn what corporations do in their board rooms. If they want to screw up their own business, fine.

When they start buying our Senators and Representatives, and dictate legislation that benefits big business at the expense of the citizenry, then I've got issues.

  • yeah, corporatism is allways the downfall of capitalism(as in free market, not mixed market). Corporatism to me is worse than fascism, it's fascism implemented by the corporations.

  • USA: You're Govt Is Dirty. Corrupt. You Only Have a Handful of Honest People and Here Is One of Them.

  • Thank you Senator Sanders, you are the best Senator in Washington. I wish there were 99 more like you.

  • This all started in 1994....not over night pull your head out youass you all need to be out on the street quit pokeing fingers...you all suck

  • AIPAC owns america. the worlds knows that too.

  • 882me - I think you miss the main point...who created the environment, and I have no doubt mostly knowingly, for Wall Street to run a muck ? I'm not saying they aren't a guilty party, I'm just saying that they are just well down the pecking order in responsibility.

But if you continue to listen to Congress and the implicit media, I guess you'll never come to realise that, and remain head in the sand with the bulk of our countrymen

  • Wall Streeters the problem ? he's kidding you, they were well down the food chain in accountability. The US administration, Congress and the Fed are the criminals behind the global financial crisis, and no amount of blaming the lesser players will change that....unless of course, those that aren't aware of the fact, never wake up

  • NZTrader, So Capitalist Cronyism is just fine by you?

If the Ponzi scheme the wealthy have been playing on the American people for the last 2 or 3 decades is just fine by you, you must be one rich son-of-a-bitch.

If that's so then what are you doing watching Sen. Sanders?

If not, then why are you kissing Wall Street's ass?

  • there is no Democracy in the US. that's the problem. when money flows through the Senate, you can't guarantee that the reasons coming from the BLUE DEMOCRATS to stop the Health Reform are compromise. So the Democrats finally got 60 votes and a sub-group decides to vote against the bill. wow! such a coincidence.

    Remember George Orwell "1984"?

The Minister of Love meant the opposite (torturing people to convince how good the government was). Democracy means the opposite now. Money talks.

  • Thank you Senator and Brave New Films

  • Lets not forget the FED, Fannie may Freddie mac, huge players in this collapse.

  • "People of the same trade rarely meet, but when they do it inevitably ends in a conspiracy against the public."-Adam Smith, being unbelievably prophetic.

  • Sanders for president.

  • Bernie continues to see the basic issues and speak out on them.

One way to improve the system would be to require TV and radio stations to provide air time at no charge during elections so that candidates wouln't have to sell themselves for campaign funds. The public owns the air waves, and the stations are only granted use, so this is not a radical suggestion.

  • Solution... google "Clean Elections"

  • The US Constitution recognizes that the individual is the smallest minority and protects us individuals with a foundation of laws to guards us against the abuses of democracy, another name for majority rule.

Democracy = A lamb and two wolves voting on what's for diner.

  • Our American form of government recognizes the human tendency for those who hold the reigns of government power to abuse in many forms. Granting special favors and preferences in return for money and/or consolidation of power are examples of abuse. The most diffuse form of power is individual power to control one's own life and property without interference. Democracy, the ability to vote away that control and to confiscate property is a well known danger.

  • Collusion between the US government and the Federal Reserve, a private bank, has been going on since 1912. The Left in both political parties has made it more entangled and more entrenched. Politicians through the Fed are free to spend and print money.

The government interference and control which the above VT NAZI loves, thwarts the human condition by removing individual control of your life and your property. It demobilizes your pursuit of happiness, the improvement of your life and property.

  • Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Washington fought to shed themselves of the greed and cruelty of control (rules and regulations imposed under color of law and by the force of guns) by elite rulers in the parliament and banks in London, their capital city. These independent extremely right wing individuals among the million of others who fought along side of them formed a structure of freedom which has unleashed a creative force unparalleled in human history.

  • From your retort, it doesn't appear that you understood my point. Sanders began by blaming Wall Street for the GD, which is only partially true. Government had more to do with Wall Street's demise than Wall Street ever did.

  • How about we put this all into perspective. The '20s, '80s, '90s, and '00s... that's four decades of market fundamentalism, and there have been at least 4 crashes. Now let's look at the '40s, '50s, '60s, and '70s... that's four decades of New Deal policies and Keynesian economics, and there was not one single boom and bust cycle which most right-wingers claim is only possible in Stalinisist Russia. The more the New Deal policies got shredded up, the worse n worse things got.

  • LIFE and PROPERTY and who controls it.

    On the Left

Government controls all lives and all property.

    On the Right

Individuals control their own lives and their own property.

Bernie Sanders is a typical NAZI Hippie. He's interested in state control in the name of charitable and compassionate causes.

  • Are you stupid, or just a liar?

    On the extreme left

    government controls business.

    On the extreme right

    business controls government

    Where are we right now?

Don't bother to answer, you are neither

bright enough nor honest enough to pay any more attention to.

  • The flip side of HOPE is VENGEANCE. Those who feel entitled to the money and property of others and/or who lack an understanding in a world of mutual respect and voluntary exchange, of how to succeed, sometimes feel that they are victims. Others have a different disease. They just want to tell people what to do.

Destructive and power hunger politicians often look for targets for "revenge." Hitler hated his Jewish step-father and the constellation of successful individuals who he saw as threats.

  • I think history says Hitler got mad at Jews, in part, because a Jewish prostitute gave him syphilis. It drove Hitler crazy...literally.

He was crazy, just like Sanders is crazy.

All socialists are crazy. Totalitarianism is on the left, and so is Hitler. Total(left).........anarchy (right). USA is in the middle. Most pols today are left of the USA Constitution, hence they hate it. Limited government is the only solution when accountability is demanded.

  • Most of us have been aware and are incensed at the role that Big Money has paid in our legislative process, but what can we do about it short of starting a revolution?

  • Government interference into time honored lending practices commandeered the assets of lenders and forced them to act against their own best interests. In defense of their survival lenders spread the risk of what was a not sustainable gov. policy. In other words lenders were corrupted by rules and regulations issued against their survival.

The interest of lenders is to serve credit worthy borrowers and those who supply the funds to lend, their investors and depositors, and NOT POLITICIANS.

  • Lenders were corrupted by rules and regulations issued against their survival.

    Humorous.

  • Mortgage lenders were initially only encouraged by Pres. Carter to be charitable to non-qualifying borrowers. Later Clinton signed into law the use of government force against them and then went after them on a large scale.

  • Those that feel we've had free market policies in place for the last century couldn't be more wrong. Since the street car systems were ripped out across the country at the hands of detroit automakers, lobbyists have become more powerful and their hands have gone deeper into the governments pockets. Get it straight, "Free marketers" are tools of fox news and are being used to fight for the rights of insurance companys. What a joke. Buy an All State t shirt and get the hell out of the way.

  • I'm pretty sure he implicated the government's roll in it. Sure the government removed reguation. That was his point about campaign finance reform -- money outside of the government coming in to hugely influence government policy, which leads to the influencers benefitting while everyone else gets bent over.

  • Get a grip on reality. Govermnet, not industry removed regulation. Who do you think PAID members of Congress to pass this legislation! Senator Sanders detailed in this video how much money the Special interests spend on lobbyists. $5 BILLION from just Wall Street alone. Wake up, smell the coffee and STOP watching Fox Propaganda. (BTW: Fannie and Freddie account for about %20 of ALL the outstanding toxic banking waste out there.)
