FABULOUS...loved every minute, the acoustics were great and who was that pretty lady in the pink long sleeve shirt? Looks like someone I work with...hmmm, maybe!
Roboa2010....Stoop to my level???Hahaha. Does it really matter what this was labeled? Flash Mob or not and regardless if you were by definition correct, you came across very negative and rude in your initial post, then say at the end "nice caroling though"??? That is my problem with people such as yourself....there was no need for your rude comments (''memorize your lines"). I hope you can sleep better at night knowing that you are a killjoy as 321snoot said. Merry Christmas Roboa!
You have got to love people such as Roboa2010, who feel the need to always have to correct people instead of taking it for just face value. I am sure we all know what a true "flash mob" is such as in the T Mobile video. Take it for what it's worth....a group of people taking the time to try and put a smile on others faces. Great job to all of you!!!! Merry Christmas! or are these idiots going to correct me that I should Happy Holidays.
@Aidensdaddy88 I took the video at face value and will not stoop to your level and call you an idiot . A great performance. Apparently from one response of a member they did not know what flash mobbing was. My response was not to ruin the performance at all or their intentions. Speaking with Holyoke residents that know what FM is have said the same thing, a GREAT PERFORMANCE enjoyed by those that saw it. Wouldn't it have been nice to hear EVERYONE in the mall singing? Christ in Christmas.
Not a Kill Joy. Said the caroling was great. Just is not a flash mob as compared to other videos. Yes the on lookers enjoyed it but where was the interaction besides singing together. I would call it a wonderful performance by a group of talented singers.
Guess you've never heard of Improv Everywhere, huh? Nothing they do is a surprise except to those that witness it. That is the point, not the spontaneity.
HouseofMirth: "A flash mob [1] is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual act for a brief time, then disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails."
Don't get to upset about the negative comments folks. It is bound to happen when you have a lot of views. You all did a great job ;-) think of it this way if the commented means they at least watched it ;-)
Poor attempt at a Flash Mob. You don't have music sheets during a flash mob. Memorize your lines. All you were doing was caroling. You spread out and surprise people and then come together if you want to. Watch other flash mob videos and you might get it right. ALSO you do not tell people you want to make it a yearly thing. Eliminates the SURPRISE which is what a flash mob is. Great caroling though.
Thank you. I guess we're not experienced flash mobbers. But the reality was that this was basically unrehearsed as a group. It was many members from many groups that have sung this previously and love it and we just agreed on a date and time and showed up and sang! So there was a lot of spontaneity in that! I'm thrilled with the results. A lot of time and effort went into coordinating a 5 minute performance and the audience as well as the singers were obviously delighted.
We at Commonwealth opera organized the Flash Mob. It included VLO, Springfield Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Hampshire Choral Society, Black Cat Theater, Edwards Church, Westfield theater group, and Eventide Hospice Chorus. Thanks for posting it. I hope you enjoyed it.
