That event there is an annual event going on for 30 years now it is called Chicano Park because it is the former site of a dump and police substation that the Chicano community took over to make into a Chicano community park. That event there is an annual event going on for 30 years now it is called Chicano Park because it is the former site of a dump and police substation that the Chicano community took over to make into a Chicano community park. After receving threats from racist groups and the local law enforcement they held strong and built the park.
