That is probably the best CG foam generation I have seen, ever! Wish I could get a similar effect in 3dsmax, but I don't have to much experience with particles. Kudos for a great demo!
Thanks for taking the time to answer. A friend have converted HOT to 3ds max, and I was thinking mainly about the foam, but I think I have a solution for it in Max. ;)
for simulating surface i'm used Houdini Ocean Toolkit. Foam is a particles, rendered as small dots. rendertime - i dont' remember absolutleley, but 1 min per frame 800x400, hardly more. shader very simple - reflect + environment map.
