There's a difference in actual pre-generated versus random generated.

One, minecraft is only as big as you make it, so unless you take the time to create on map that's larger than Daggerfall (62,394 mi^2)

Let's assume that each minecraft block is 1 meter cubed.

The sqaureroot of Daggerfall's map is 249.78791. So let's convert that.

249.78791 miles = 401,994.67423 meters. Now, let's square that.

Its not actually THE largest game ever made. Elder scrolls 2: Daggerfall is the largest at 62,394 square miles, then Lord of the rings online at 30K square miles, then guild wars nightfall at 15K square miles, then fuel at 5560 square miles.
