  • It was nice of the comics that came out between this movie and IV to redeem the Excelsior.

  • I never liked the old Captain of the Excelsior, it wasn't the ship's fault, but the captain's that made the ship an enemy.

  • "And...now."

    "Sir...?"

    "The doors, Scotty."

"Aye, sir, I'm working on it."

This whole scene makes me wanna scream HELL YEAH!!! The only bad thing about this scene is that it made my dad HATE the Excelsior Class entirely (it's a pretty beast ship class if you ask me) :D

  • This song goes through my head every time I have to go in reverse in my car for a long time especially in parking lots..and when I finally get to the open I can hear Sulu say "We have cleared space doors..."

  • and now mr scott

    sir?

    The doors mr scott

aye sir i'm working on it

  • "Ole systems auwtomated and reidy. Ah chim-pan-zee and two trrainees could run 'er"

"Thank you Mr Scott - and i know you meant that personally"

    "heh :DDD"

    .....

"Och, the systems ovrrrloaded! i dinna think you'd take 'er inta combat!"

    "Mr Scott, you monkey!"

    "Aye sir..."

  • Kirk, If you do this, you'll never sit on the Captains chair Again... WARP SPEED!

Still sends shivers down my spine, Best score ever. Love James horner's star trek scores, shame he never did any film the same as he did this one, epic!

  • @CaptainJahangir99 that is not a shame it must be true passion;) i love the details in his work ..so many dramatic epicness moments DockDoors opening..WARP! gotta love it

  • The scene and effects are certainly good, but it's this music which completely underscores the tensions and thrills. Fantastic cue from Horner.

  • "Prepare fo warp speed! Stand-by Trans-warp drive!"

"Trans-warp drive at your commnd, sir."

    "Execute."

    (Sound) zzzzzZZZZZZZEEEEEE.....Clunk!

    LOL!

  • "Don't call me tiny!"

  • from one doctor to another.....the main control chips outa the excelciors traswarp compuder drive.....

  • "And, now Mr Scott"

    "sir?"

    "the doors Mr Scott"

"aye sir i'm working on it!"

  • The video picture is so low quality, it looks like it says "The Launch For Spock."

  • @CaptDouchebag no it dosen't

  • The cue from 2:58 - 3:13 wasn't included in the movie. I wonder what scene wouldve gone there..

  • @opus289 Brilliant piece my friend, makes me want to do that to Picard and the Enterprise E :-D

  • Oh, and 2 people got stuck on the USS Excelsior.

  • Quite possibly one of the best scenes in the entire franchise.

  • "Sir, Commander Starfleet On Emergency Channel, He Orders You To Surrender This Wessel"

  • You know what I love? James Horner's Enterprise motif (4:20). I don't think any of the other Star Trek composers actually gave the Big E her own musical theme.

  • imagine the abrams version of this film if spock dies but the crew were stoped from going back in time sir someone is stealing the jj prise

  • Two people clearly have something stuck up their shafts.

  • Alert...Yellow Alert. All stations Yellow Alert.

  • @CrumbTarncrest "How can you have a yellow alert in Spacedock?"

  • @opus289 "Sir, someone is stealing the Boobyprise "

  • @opus289 Ha ha! Keep watching!

  • @opus289 Sir, someone is stealing the Enterprise!

  • @amit790 Of all the Star Trek movies, this is one of my favorite sequences; made all the better by this music. Have you heard the alternate take on this in the Expanded Edition?

  • @opus289 No, I don't believe I've heard the alternate take

  • @amit790 Look in my playlists for the Expanded Edition. The beginning is a little different...

  • @opus289 why are you using the inferior mix of the GNP release?

  • @opus289 agree! this is my favorite one out off all of the original star trek movie! The next movie that's my favorite is First Contact.

  • @opus289 "Don't call me tiny!"

  • @FishfilmInc Ha! I loved that part!

  • awesome music, this makes me want to steal a battle ship

  • @TheDEATHSTARIII

There are a couple of US warships in the Gulf that the arab population are very welcome for you to take back.

  • The first few bars are taken almost directly from Prokofievs score for 'Romeo and Juliet' can't remember which section though.

  • Fantastic!!

  • *Warning Secure Space Doors* *Warning Secure Space Doors*

  • @bhownzrofl2 mr Scott? aye ser? the doors mr Scott! aye ser, i'm working on it!

  • @bhownzrofl2 Opening the magnetic shield. We are opening the magnetic shie... er, sorry. Wrong movie.

  • Opus289, I love you enough to suscribe & rate 5/5.

Thanks for posting songs from Star Trek III.

    I love you a lot. ^_^

  • By the way thanks for the post :)

  • You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed!

  • Look im sorry guys i gotta correct you but titanic if anything copies star trek. Which was out first?

    nuff said!

  • 4:20 is when Enterprise starts to back up then the situation gets intense and cool.

  • Which part of Titanic can you hear the musical phrase?

  • I dont know whether he meant to do it but i can hear this soundtrack in titanics and vie versa lol probs cos its "ship" music :)

  • I Love James Horner!

He Makes The Score of The New Cameron Movie Avatar!

  • I love how they threw in the old sputtering jalopy sound when the excelsior breaks down. lol.

  • Intense, wonderous, proud

  • Fantastic.

  • I agree!

  • 6:52 - 7:04 pure epic

  • It was a 'swagger stick' that military officials used to carry...(I think)

  • talk softly and carry a big stick. ;)

  • Any idea what that little stick thing that the Captain of the Excelsior was used for?

  • "kirk. you do this you'll never sit in the captains chair again"

  • Kirk: "warp speed" :)

  • Locutus266:

That's a recycled V'Ger sound effect... I couldn't tell you what made the sound though...

  • Craig Huxley was the one who invented the Blaster Beam back in the '70s.

  • blaster beam. It's essentially a 18 foot long 24 string electric bass guitar that they slapped with pipes and various bows to make the low metallic sound. I've been wrestling with the idea of creating a "mini beam" myself just to see if I can do it. =)

  • Im pretty sure thats the blaster beam.

  • Jmaes Horner made the best music for Star Trek

  • I really did enjoy this movie. I thought it was the most emotional out of all of them, including the recent reboot. Not that it was better but this movie really focused on friendship and the sacrifices we sometimes have to make for each other.

  • You're welcome...Thanks for looking

  • Man this is awesome! Thanks for posting!
