ii still remembered the first time i saw him on youtube, i played the guitar for only 3 months.
like a fool, i picked up my guitar and tried to imitate him. of cuz i played crap. ii wasn't even fretting the right stuff. What i'm trying to say is that, Tommy inspires people to do things.
Me and my mate Andy went to see Tommy at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Previous to that we saw Joe Satriani, It Bites then Paul Gilbert. Andy saw Yngwie as well. We were blown away by Tommy. He was simply awesome. Awesome I tell you. He has jumped to no.2 in my all time guitar player list. Behind Yngwie. Only just no.2 mind...
Hey cheers Nick you sound like one of the good guys -Tommy is brill I've seen him now from playing to half a dozen of us in a back street pub to what he is now, he deserves it all if only through his sheer determination -but we all know its alot more than that. Take care bud
in some ways, it's like he owns the song now, even though it wasn't written by him, and I think that's what so special about his playing (unique playing!!) and that's why everytime he plays it it's always not exactly the same.
Great musician, and I think the greatest guitarist of the past and current centuries.
Some time ago I kept my acoustic guitar in its case for long years because of work, wife, babies an so on. Last July I saw Tommy on YouTube...... now I can't stop playing !!!
Thanks for posting this awesome version, and for your wonderful comments of the last Tommy Fest in UK. I'd like to have been there....
Wow! It sounds awesome! I was checking out his tracks available on iTunes, and I didn't think any of them sounded as good as these recordings (sound quality, not playing). Too bad this couldn't be made into a live CD. Thanks for posting.
It's so true about how this have evolved from the Endless Road version. I was actually never that fond of that version, but now it's one of my live favourites of Tommy. He just nails it, he gets the mood perfectly.
This is always a treat. In a masterclass in Madrid Tommy said that "Playing this every day, it keeps getting better and better!". Where will he end up? Over the Rainbow, maybe?;)

This arrangement has evolved incredibly since the Endless Road version. I think the arrangement must match the emotion of the moment.
