  • WHO CARES? i would fire it, i would never sell that baby, hell to the no, imagine that peice of history, and being able to fire something like that? i would definatly take a few shots with that rifle, no i wouldnt do stress tests or fire it all day and stuff, but yeah :S

  • that thing is beautiful!

  • I heard these type of rifles were notoroius for blowing peoples hands off because the hot gases from the one in the barrel would ignite the other cylinders. However I have always been fascinated by revolving rifles and would love to own one myself. Does anyone know of the price range of one of these beauties?

  • @greencell0

Any black powder revolver can do this too. Thats why it was and still is common practice to wipe a little grease, lard or even a little animal fat on the ball and the face of the chamber to ensure that any powder that didnt get pushed back didnt possibly ignite.

  • You get to use this gun in the History Channel video game Civil War: A Nation Divided along with other period weapons such as the 1861 Springfield rifle, Sharps rifle, Spencer carbine, Colt Model 1860, and Remington model 1858. It's a very good, historically accurate game. I got it for Xbox 360.

  • Dear Santa,......

  • very modern for it time

  • @Lavrentizodiac Actually it was the same as the revolvers of the day and was loaded the same, with cap and ball. There were many repeating carbines that were used in th Civil War that could load allot faster and could load more rounds like the Spencer carbine or the Henry rifle which both used brass cartridges like guns today. Also it was dangerous because all the barrels could go off at once.

  • HAHA...I have a COPY of THIS (I think it's this, it looks just like it) from China that is actually just the biggest cigarette-lighter uve ever seen (the flame comes out of the flint-lock thing and that is ALL this stupidly big "novelty item" is for)

The crap they make and sell in Shenzhen is just hilarious sometimes, you are like "WTF are they thinking?"

I don't think it's worth as much as the real one though...

  • ...

it cost me 50RMB (around 6us dollars), I can't see how they could have produced the thing for less than that....sweat-shop workers grinding away with their mental Cowboy obsessed boss screaming at them in Cantonese that his antique-rifle/fire-arm-lighter business SHALL be a great success.

    Still it's an interesting lighter I suppose...lol

  • if l lived in the 1860s I own it.

  • I wish someone would make repros of some of the less common old guns. This, the Giradoni air rifle, the 1819 Hall, maybe some Martini's and/or Sniders in readily available calibers like .45/70. I've nothing against the 'classics' but c'mon, instead of making the whole gamut of Winchesters (which are fine rifles but common as dirt) ad nauseum, how about some of these repro companies give some of these lesser known classics a chance? Just my $.02 Good vid, don't let these classics be forgotten!

  • Yeah these guns sometimes all the bullets go off and they shoot out and hit your hand in the front.

  • @Arbiter11723 LOL...yeah....i's called "chain-firing".....not a good think to happen

  • from what i hear that gun likes to blow up in your hand

  • i used that in black ops

  • @ituber23 this gun aint in black ops

  • I so very need one of these over my fireplace. That is a wonderful weapon. By the way, a tip for shooting old black powerder revolvers like this. Put some greace over the chamber after loading in order to prevent that autofire issue you mentioned.

  • i would never have thought that there was a rifle revolver

  • @michelthegreatable yea and for a repeating pistol there the the pepper box revolver which i think they called it the first automatic pistol

  • @Irish8594 you mean first "semi-automatic"......as fast as you can pull the trigger?

  • @inkey2 yea there u go i learned it like a year ago and cant remember what they said it was

  • beutiful, and what a great find!!

  • thats amazing, never seen a rifle with a revolving barrel before

  • someone needs to make a 12 gauge revolver, yeah i know i said that already but what i mean this time is they need to make one that can be imported to the united states, a guy told me about the one that exists and sweet jesus it's pretty but they're like $10,000 and can't be imported.

  • what a beauty

  • nice rifle. is this the tech right before the lever rifle?

  • beautiful old gun, great vid, cheers.

  • @GunWebsites If you would like to see this rifle in action, check out the movie El Dorado (1966) staring John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, and James Caan. In the movie Arthur Hunnicutt plays the character Bull Harris (Mitchum's deputy) and he carries and shoots one of these Colt Revolving Carbines. Great video review, keep up the great work.

  • Amazing firearm. Colt is simply one of the best manufactures out there. A pretty close moder version is the Uberti reproduction.

  • Really cool gun, thanks to you and your friend for sharing!

  • is this by any chance the same model of the guns sent to florida during the civil war at harney's point?

  • Attaboy on the video, great job and thank you for your effort!!!

  • uberti make a halfway replica

  • @janz1234567898

    The 1873 Carbine?

  • @xreddeadx its a 1858_target_carbine

  • that is beautiful! great that you could share with us

  • amazing

  • hmm never heard of that one.

  • What a beautiful firearm.

  • What a weapon! thanks for showing it.

  • 56 cal thats a cannon and if that shot the miniball night night

  • wow .56 caliber whats the recoil compared to a todays .50 cal rifle?

  • @alucardismaster Not as much, more like a 12 gauge slug, which shoots a 72 caliber round :)

  • wow .56 caliber whats the recoil compared to a todays .50 cal rifle

  • @alucardismaster .50 bmg and .56 ball are very different. The number references to the diameter of the round, not the power.

  • why didn't anyone think of loading several cylinders and just swapping them out instead of reloading?

  • @machinegun911 They did. Some soldiers that carried this gun in the Civil War did carry a reserve fully loaded cylinder in case they were in a tight spot and didn`t have time to fully reload in the heat of battle. I once saw a rusted fully loaded cylinder that was found on the Franklin Tn. battlefield by a relic hunter in the 90`s.

  • This gun is fuckin awesome, I wish they would make a new version of this gun in .50 cal. It would be SO popular.

  • @skeebert nope if a chain fire happens wheres your front hand right in front of the other chambers

not good but thay make a nice wall hanger

  • @camerl2009 taurus makes one.

  • @skeebert yes but that not a cap and ball(blackpowder) and it has a flash guard so the gass and lead dose not hit your hand

  • @camerl2009 exactly.. If they were to make a modern version of this firearm, I'd hope it wasn't cap and ball.. DUH..

  • Very cool!

  • I want one. More importantly, i want one sos i can bastardize it into a revolver :D

  • 56.cal!! hope you really wanted that deer dead!

  • This gun would be fun to shoot until you get a chain fire, interesting firearm though

  • Tactical Musket. Awesome!

  • The first thing that I thought of when I saw this video, was the guy who runs that 'Pawn Stars" shop down in Vegas.

"This rifle in fantastic! And I really want this rifle in my shop. But I have to get it for the right price!"

  • @xXdethrowXx

I do too, I just wish I knew more about them

  • Interesting - a percussion musket I have up on the wall at home has a similar issue with the cleaning/loading rod - it reaches only around 3/4s of the way down the barrel. I assumed it therefore to be a later addition, but perhaps not.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45

    Check the stock !!

  • @GunWebsites Alas no - the butt plate is nailed into the stock. No chance of a secret compartment - or if it is, it's a little too secret. I do have some pictures of it - would it be possible for me to send them over, to see if you have any ideas at all about age/maker etc? I took it to an antiques dealer over here, and he couldn't make head nor tale of it.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 its not a musket its a rifle

  • @camerl2009 How might you know if what I have on my wall is a musket or a rifle?

  • Very beatiful, thank you for sharing!

  • 1855! Wow!

  • 1855....fucking awesome!

  • WOW....That things a SWEETHEART!! I'd love to have one of those on my wall! Gunwebsites ROCKS!! I appreciate all the great vids you guys post!! Keep em comin fellas!!

  • Thats a real piece of History ! Very Nice .

  • Really COOL!!

  • FINALLY IV BEEN WAITING TO DO THIS FOREVER FRIST!!!!!

  • @swindle2345 your second fucking idiot and yeah that rifle would look great with a bit of a polish up :D

  • @swindle2345 aw shit :(

  • Sweet rifle. The shame about it is, if I owned that rifle, or anything even close to it, there is no way I would have the balls to even load it.
