I think Zidane was at his best when he was at Juventus. Don't get me wrong, he's still good when he's at Real Madrid.

well, many consider the age when Zidane was playing for Juve as the peak of a soccer player and I guess I have to agree. I followed his time at Madrid more closely but nevertheless his overall shape at Juve was better than at Madrid. But on the other hand...for quite some of his time at Madrid, the team was just not working together... I think under different circumstances the Zidane of these years would've played better.

@magician10vids your opinion is totally wrong. only people that have not truly watched zidane say this. when he was at juve he got to his highest point and cudnt go any further he had been in 2 champions league finals and lost both. his one ambition was to win the ch league trophy because he had won everything else. when he went to madrid it made him a much much better player through training and playing with the best in the world. ronaldo figo beckham

@MrMofo4eva *lol* what? I already said I didn't regularily watch him at Juventus. So I can't judge how good he was technically at that point but in terms of consistency, especially if you consider Zizou's last years at Madrid when he had many injuries he wasn't as good in Madrid as in Juve. Also it's a fact that, no matter how many great players Madrid had back then, they didn't win much when he was there...and if they had played differently, I think he as an individual would've performed better

@magician10vids just because madrid werent always doing well. nobody blamed zizou because it was clear to see his individual talent is unquestionable he scored the best goal in champions league history at madrid and went on to win much much more and he also proved he was the best player in the world when he was at madrid he was even better at madrid and didnt get injured often. infact he evolved into an even better player. so again YOU ARE WRONG.

@MrMofo4eva jeez fella...I am the biggest Zidane fan out there. If you think it's so important to argue with me if he was better at Madrid or not...fine. But it really doesnt matter. I adore that guy more than anything else. so I don't get why its such a big deal to you if I believe that his performances were overall better at Juve. Zidane was the God of football to me. So even when he wasnt so good, he was still head and shoulders over the others, also at Madrid.

I agree. Zidane wasn't even fast and he was tall and actually everything was against him in that sense but yet he managed to trick everybody else, even if they had twice the speed or were half his size. He didn't need that because his insight into the game was so incredible. So I am always a bit shy of saying he's the greatest player ever, but I am sure he's the biggest genius in football ever.

if being the fastest means the best ever,

so dont play football but

join sprint race 100 or 200 metres and

be like Usain bolt.

well, he is the best I have ever seen. But I can't judge how other players were that played before my time. And I think that, as you say, Zidane is the proof that a player doesn't have to be fast to dominate everybody else.
