shit son u rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just started playing lead like 6 months ago still i can do solos nearly like that i just dont have that kinda feel like i have the feel but ya know, ur motivating me to pracitce mi pentatonic and blues scales!
one take improv? I'd take centurys to get prepaired to make something like that, and i bet it wouldn't sound nearly half as good as this sounds. Pure genious
i suggest some thicker strings i play with 11's and thats still not enough but you probally have 9's and thats not the best tone you could be getting outta that guitar. But nice other than that had a stevie vai feel with a stevie vai guitar
@markmcguigan i have 10s on my guitar and ive been playing for 2 and a half months wat is the differance in tone and such? ive played on 9s and they felt easier to pull off notes on them.
@Nidaime299 It's a personal taste thing again, some feel 10s with that higher tension and greater string mass produce a more fuller sound compared to 9s. But body woods, the way people play, pick attack etc etc. all comes into play
Great very inspiring to me I am 8 years old and want to be a guitarist when I grow up. Check me out playing my own blues number, if you have time. Jacob
hey...knew i heard that backing track before... it's the "Albert King" style track Guthrie did. Where can I download it.... I would love to kick that tracks ass.... : )
Anyway, keep up what you're doing, it sounds great, and you have nowhere to go but up. Keep challenging yourself in practice with slow, complicated lines. Turn that into super articulate playing... that's the secret of Steve, Guthrie, Cesar etc. Slow in practice, rip in playing!!
I don't know man, I've got one and I don't like it very much. But then again I'm not one for guitars with thick necks. Thinking about gettin an es 335 when I get the money. :P
nice man. i'll have to agree w/ crobins333's comment, in that you didn't overplay it. nice playing, not overly flashy, a nice balance, and you kept it interesting, for the most part. i have not checked out any of your other videos, but any chance we can hear what you sound like clean? peace, david
the really good thing about this clip is that u dont overplay, some flashy stuff but kept on contxt wiv nice melody that enhance the progression, one of the few people on here that kept me watching for the whole vid, nice one
Damn...just damn... Somewhere between :02 ad 3:01, I came.. Sir I would cut off both my hands for a chance to jam with u.

@Octane2009 the major and minor pentatonic can take you a looong way if you manipulate them well :) Just look at SRV for that proof

I prefer 9 on my floyd guitars and use 10s on any other electric due to style of play respect for my tendons etc :).
To be honest in this vid the camera doesn't quite capture the sound truthfully and it sounds a little thin on some of the notes.
But it's all subjective :), personally I'd rather use my fingers than rely on gauge/gear etc. for 'tone'.

This person is the real thing.
This is the kind of player you want to emulate.
Creative, Spontanious, with a dash of metal.
The the kind of player that sucks it all up and blows your head off with it.
I give him the AZKEYZ seal of approval.
I'm willing to bet he works on his bach deep in the night, lets pray he doesn't know what a violin is.
