Marshall Amps are a perfect fit for his gear. He uses Seymour Duncan pickups that usually have great low ends and are really metal sounding. On the other hand Dave uses Marshall amps that have a reall good mid/high ratio so his gear is about as perfect as it gets for sound

Marshall's are spectacular, but my Carvin VM100 got's more balls than any Marshall. The crunch breaks the windows, makes your nuts shake. The volume brings plaster down, and the gains and the cleans are amazing. Even Dave would like it.

Yeah, Marshalls are just amazing. They just cost an arm and a leg. That's why i had to go with a used Ibanez hald stack. If I ever save up enough I'll be sure to get a Marshall head for sure.

Daves equipment just sounds killer. The gear he used in the 80's was just fucking brutal. The remasters removed the nice bite that the original album mixes had. It was just another ploy for Capitol to make money off Megadeth.

You know Dave wanted to remaster them himself, and did, right? It had nothing to do with Capitol. And the remasters ALL sounds amazing - with the exception (as many know) of RIP, which he had to replace lost vocal tracks on a few tunes. (The worst part of that for me is the demon voice on 5 magics - instead of a demon, it now sounds like a 400lb redneck, but whatever). But the remasters sound great on a good stereo now, instead of sounding dated. I thought they were better than most CD remasters

@liquifex Nothing wrong with the remasters. If I cannot track down a few more original Deth albums to complete my collection. I will settle on the remasters. They do sound good. RIP was sounds good but yeah the re-recorded vocals take some getting use to. Killing sounds much better remastered.

God no its awful. It takes a long time for the ear to develop (i used to think Marshalls and Fireballs were amazing as well) Check out the Mako2test video. If you want a truly brutal amp.

Umm, it's all subjective, what I would think is good tone may be totally different from what you think is good tone..

Listened to the Mako Mak2 test vid, and was really not impressed. Alot of ground hum and noise, way trebly, hissy and thin. Not a full, round, heavy, clear, low-mid thump that I like, with less ground noise and hum.

.......So because I like ENGL's and Marshalls, I have a poor ear? Wow.

And who said I just wanted an amp that can be brutal?
