  • is this done is Asia? workers all look asian

  • c'mon my experience with united sucked! just because people in economy dont pay as much we dont get personal screens? other companies offer it with economy for the same price!

  • Which the name of the song?

  • @08085356 Rhapsody in Blue George Gershwin

  • The seats are not very personnel and still in the old 2 by 2 layout this died in the early 2000 in Asia and on some european airlines .Im sorry but I will never fly on American carriers as there service is too "in your face" Look at virgin atlantic, air new zealand, singapore, cathay pacific, and many more now those are airlines.

  • Also, while we're on the subject. Quite a few U.S. airlines don't even offer Business class anymore, and certainly not on -every- international and Most trans-con flights. Some don't even have a Real first class. Delta for instance has their "Business-Elite" Thing in place of first, and no business class. United Is a World Class Air Carrier, and will only continue to get better with the help and hard work of ALL of our employees s-UA and s-CO alike. Period.

  • What crapy business class seats

  • @brettney72 So Uh.. exactly what makes them so "crappy" Exactly?

  • Differences between heaven and hell is when you fly Delta Airlines in business elite class, next flight you fly United Airlines in economy class.

  • and the economy remains the same crap.....

  • @PakaBubi That's because it's -ECONOMY-. Seriously, I get tired of hearing people whine about this stuff. If you want First or business class seating.. Buy a First or Business Ticket. You can't pay for nothing and get everything, thing's don't work that way for anyone, and I don't understand why people think airlines should be any different.

  • @MyleneJ My dear. I am always flying on business or first. I can afford it. The meaning of my note was, meanwhile the airlines (most of them) keep upgrading the first and business service, do nothing but rather cutting economy service and benefits, nevertheless the airfare keep getting more and more expencive.

  • @PakaBubi More expensive isn't exactly true, Air Fare around the globe has dropped, and costs approximately 10% less than it did ten years ago. (inflation taken into account properly). And yet Fuel prices go up, as do maintenance costs. So Airlines have to balance these things the best they can, and since many people don't really want to pay much for tickets, It's hard for airlines to attract customers and still make money. All the latest mergers are a perfect reflection of this.

  • So Korean air crew Replaced all of the seats. you can see the korean air hats and the aircraft pull thing.

  • @tommy8556277 Not necessarily "Korean Air" in the aspect that you're thinking. If I remember correctly, Korean Air has a large maintenance division as well.

  • If only I was rich....I can't even afford coach, I fly in the cargo with the animals

  • @sadalite cool story bro

  • Jesus how many 747 do they have in this video?

  • I never understood why UAL never updated coach with better seats (AVOD etc) into thier 747 fleet, especially as most of the jumbo's flights are Trans- Paciffic and ALL the other airlines flying those routes have those styke of seats. How UAL manage to get bums on seats I'll never know.

  • @leeborich because UAL is a bad airline

  • @PVvikings33 Bad Airline? Hah, they're still one of the best Crossing the Pacific. And with the CO/UA merger, they're only going to get -Better-.

  • @PVvikings33 No, because UAL is a 3-star airline. If you want more on your over-seas flight fly on British Airways.

  • @upiluften Well until the merger is final, United was the lone carrier worldwide if memory serves me right to offer all 3 levels of service on every single International Long Haul flight. Say what you will about the service, but some only offer first on select routes: united did it for everyone. It will continue in the merged company thankfully.

  • @pjc858 Huh? I wasn't saying anything about UAL's quality of service. I was just telling him that saying "UAL is a bad airline" is a false negative.. because they're not meant to be a "good" airline, per their star rating.

I've never personally flown the new United, or the old one (IIRC).. so I can't make any personal judgement. But.. as an a.net armchair-pilot aviation-fanboy I should have remembered that UA is the only US carrier with 3 cabins in International.Their hard product is the best.

  • @upiluften As someone who works for s-CO: there is plenty of room for improvement with our spouse that used to wear a tulip, but the people do mean well and they try harder than the average carrier, but I've always said that the way you are treated by any companies people is a reflection of how Upper Management treats them. Shame too. We get compliments all the time about how we treat them as they start having s-UA and s-CO work together.

  • @pjc858 Wait, what is s-CO and s-UA? The only term that I've come across referring to each entity pre-merger is either pmUA, or pmCO.

But I think I get what you're saying. CO has always had the reputation, in recent years anyways, for having warmer service.. suitable for the business-man.. but United has more brand recognition (per the BS which has been fed to us..). Somehow keeping the CO globe and UA name was supposed to bring out the best in both companies..

  • @upiluften s(ubsidiary)-CO and s(ubsidiary)-UA is the internal way of handling pmCO and pmUA

  • @pjc858 (I work for S-UA myself and am a second generation employee).

Let me say this, of all the choices out there I for one am extremely happy we chose to merge with CO. But don't get me wrong, while I'm very happy we're still UA, I'm sorry to see CO the name go, because I know how much it means to some people.

But as far as I'm concerned, It's Americas two best airlines making a better one.

  • how many days it took to renovte, 10 years?

  • @jc9622 Uh.. no.

  • All i see is Chines people putting everything in. They must be really good to work on a beoing A/C

  • 55 people work for delta

  • Comment removed

  • This isn't a time-lapse. The Asians really do work that quick.

  • @phillyguy95 lol

  • @phillyguy95 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @phillyguy95 hahahahahha hillarious

  • By all appearance United Airlines of America did not contract the installation of the retro-fit in the USA.

  • @drew28010 not it was indeed out of country outsourced, many believe in large part to the Screw-over the Teamsters (United's Mechanics union) Well.. Sucks. Shoulda gone with the IAMAW, here's hoping they change unions during the merger.

  • @drew28010 nope our cheap ass buissness people out source.

  • It was assembled in South Korea

  • What's with the old style seats at 1:02?

  • @rocantr I'm gonna say either crew seating or the start of economy plus seating.

  • its cheaper to fly the aircraft to china to change the seats than to do it in the US.

  • @ypisoni I think a Korean Company does the refits for United Airlines. Not China!

  • @TKaussie...Korean Air's Engineering Department does retrofits for a few airlines including United.

You'll see the "Korean Air" logo on the door of the yellow truck.

  • @ypisoni That's a ridiculous decision considering so-called 'climate change' is such an issue. If it was a real issue why allow aircraft to fly this distance just for a internal re-vamp?

  • @formeliandialogue all airlines do it. you'd be amazed how far a plane will travel for a cabin retrofit or even heavy maintenance work.

Aloha Air Cargo flies their B737-200 Freighters to Costa Rica for heavy maintenance work, even Hawaiian Airlines do the same to their Boeing 717's, but they fly them to Miami.

You'd figure they'd do the job(s) locally, but not all stations that the airline(s) are based at have the capacity, facility or even equipment/time to carry out such work.

  • Just wait until a Chinese subcontractor decides to use counterfeit China made parts, along with the already rotten China grade workmanship, because it saves a few bucks, then everyone will be sorry.

  • @OlegKostoglatov Nobody will care. America is an idiocracy...a nation of morons.

  • They might care when planes start falling out of the sky because of China grade maintainance, that's what I meant when I said that everyone will be sorry. It's one thing to trust them to make a pair of shoes, or pants, (even those they can't make right) but trust them with an aircraft costing 300 million dollars??? A fool's bargain that's for sure.

  • @OlegKostoglatov I'm with you in spirit, believe me brother, but I don't like to make the argument based on the quality issue. Because then it would logically follow that if their quality was top notch then you and I would be OK with outsourcing our jobs? No, of course not. We are against outsourcing to China because it DESTROYS the US economy.....period. I wish China the best, but we need to look out for our own economy and keep the jobs in America.

  • My mum works for united airlines

  • UNITED? Is this the airline that breaks guitars?

  • I wonder if day shift were like, "Night shift must of done fuck all last night"?

  • I didn't even have to pause to see that half of them are asians.

    Cool vid :D

  • We miss the old 2004 livery and we miss the tulip!

  • cool

  • jeff smisek sucks cock like a pro

  • that's a lot of asians!

  • United Airline 747 hit one of the Twin Towers, Idiots...

  • @TVTCollider what are you talking about? a 747 did not hit a twin tower.

  • @TVTCollider That was a 757...

  • @kafutunga American 11 and United 175 were both 767's.

  • @SecretService80 I was mistaking them for the one that had crashed into the field...Flight 93 It happened on the same day...So I figure it is still valid but not in the argument that they hit any of the two tower. In other words yes you are correct. It is not as far fetched as the idea of a 747 at least... The differences of a 767 to a 757 are more of length and width (and comfort especially on united 767 and 747) to the unaided eye it is not much different. 757 and 767 are far apart from a 747.

  • @kafutunga Right, I wasn't trying to be rude, just to let you know. UA93 was a 757 and I'm not sure what AA77 was...I think a 757 as well.

  • @SecretService80 Yes I believe it was 757. I know you were not trying to be rude. I did not think you were.

  • @kafutunga Oh, OK. Just wanted to be sure! :-)

  • United's 747 is going to look so Ugly in the 747 colors. Its going to be a real shame

  • I want to see a 744 in Continental/United colors.

  • can you fly backwards in buisness class?

  • @BonadimanDaniel your gay grow up

  • Damn asians are fast

  • love united!!

  • Gotta love outsourcing . You can thank all the wonderful unions for outsourcing U.S. jobs to lower paid yet highly skilled overseas workers. Time to get paid the market rate union guys or jobs will continue to get shipped overseas.

  • @ChicagoCrew ...lol.. what are you, Retarded?

  • Very Good!!

  • I'd really like to ride in the upper deck. It seems really nice.

  • They forgot to put the Golden Gate Bridge lol

  • The Whale Cruises on...

  • Cool

  • Fantastic

  • New seat configuration done by Korean workers, that's where some of our American jobs are going to.

  • @hoku51 Well, apparently they are not American jobs if Koreans are doing them.

  • @Bulldog22031 Well, they used to be. All seat configs are done in Korea, along with heavy maintenance, when they used to be done here in the USA. Sign of the times.

  • @hoku51 The Majority of United's heavy maintenance still takes place at the SFO Maintenance base, and Greensboro facilities, the Seating is done out of Country, usually at Tokyo, Narita.

  • Looks like Korean Air Engineers put all that stuff for the United.

  • Comment removed

  • @imanseven ????????

  • Another job outsourced to Asia and some of that outsourcing is done by the first class passengers.

  • Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, classic and i'm only 25.

Love the 747, iconic plane with loads of character rather the bus in the sky A380. Put in an order for the 747-8!

  • What happens to the old seats?

  • United, please don't get rid of the 747!

  • Dude!

This is way too cool. I've always wanted to know, how they do it....I know now....Cool!

  • that was cool....

  • Wow!!

  • Love UA, glad the name survived!

  • great plane! Bring in the 747-8 next United!

  • Dont talk shitte and im talkin bout english

  • Stop fucking anout the irish them bastards invade us and wont leave the north alone. Most of u r prob american. Dont talk about us. Fenian and proud

  • Wow. That cabin looks better than my living room.

  • After all this time and nothing about the "guitar problem?"

I am not a frequent flier so it's not all that big of deal for them.

But the 2 times I had a choice, I did not choose them.

    Just my two cents.

  • Awesome!

  • Thats a big bird!

  • interesting

  • Ok this video convinced me. I'm flying first class with you guys.

  • Who gets the "old" seats?

  • United is a airline that will always have a special place in my heart. They are such a wonderful airline, it's only a shame that a wonderful airline is runed by idiots at wacker dr.

  • @OhMaiLanta Eh they may be idiots sometimes, but I have to say, most of their decisions and actions during this "recession" and the Skyrocketing fuel prices the year before, have Honestly left United in a better position than Alot of other airlines, Including Delta (currently losing about 700+ Million a year -after- the DAL/NWA merge) and American who was forced to cut 1/3rd of their flying out of their O'Hare Hub, after losing passenger traffic to United.

  • What happens to the old seats once there taken out?

  • United breaks guitars!

  • racist pigs. muslims are good people. its the few percent that are extremist. you cant insult muslims if you don't know anything about them. read a fucking book.

  • big deal...they still break guitars

  • all subleted to china for the install, gotta love it

  • you are racist

  • Haha, oh wow. I haven't seen such a misinformed comment in a long ass time. So tell me - since when is a christian bombing an abortion clinic not terrorism? Since when was catholic Irish folk bombing protestant Irish churches (and vice versa) not terrorism? Since when is a basic "give me money or I kill the hostages" situation carried out by some random low life not terrorism?

Either you're stupid, or you just don't know what terrorism actually is.

  • I guess Oklahoma City wasn't an act of terrorism, then?

  • uh, ....... all of the "terrorists" thus far HAVE been muslim. The 19 from 9/11, Reid, the most recent one on Christmas Day, etc, etc. Do your homework.

  • not ALL?? REALLY?

  • Yeah, the problem is that everyone thinks they are. Extra air checks kill me ever going on an airplane more over fear of terrorism.

  • Woah. This is pretty cool!

  • Well, this is dandy and all. Doesn't help how comfortable you are during the flight if qhen you reach your destination they've managed to leave your bags.

  • you could always do your bit for the environment if you must fly and go hand luggage.

  • Comment removed

  • this looks pretty sweet the only issue is that United breaks guitars

  • I LOVE United.... and those new First class seats on the 747 are absolutely incredible! It's super!

  • man, I love too much Gershwin's music

  • What company do you think, did the installation of these seats? BTW, the seats look great, much better than those ugly recliner seats!

  • Oh this is so awesome, love United, always fly them wherever I go, all airlines have there issues, even Southwest, but you wont catch me on SW, I still like to at least fly something that still has some class to it!

  • I flew Seattle - Narita on a 777 and Narita to Bangkok on a 747 and vice versa coming back, and the planes were very clean, and although the planes were probably old, it did seem like they were well taken care of. I flew economy class, and it wasn't that bad...food was okay and the service on all 4 legs were good. I'd fly them again on that route.

  • I wonder how it smells like inside a brand new plane!

  • United is the worse.. never fly again.. poor service and very poor customer service.. So long united hopefully you'll get bought out.. or go under.

  • Comment removed

  • No airline is perfect. They are all bad. But if you are persistent, United will make up for their mistakes. AA will rarely do this. Southwest, can't even fly to Mexico (just the USA). I hope UAL doesn't go under. Just write a letter the next time you have an issue. What was the issue, if you don't mind me asking?

  • Ur a fucking cunt i hope u die.

  • Nice video! Thanks for uploading. Wish the economy section had a bit more excitement though :/

  • your joking united is the worst airline by far never fly again!!!!!

  • You must have been in coach!

  • Ok...what is better?

  • look how UN-spacious it is in business

    Singapore Airlines got 1-2-1

    while UA got 2-4-2

  • its because singapore airlines is a world reknown legacy global premier 5 star airline that cares about their passengers needs and comforts.

  • SQ C is not 1-2-1 on a 47.

  • Singapore is the BEST.

  • FIVE STARS. I regularly travel in F and I am a member of FlyerTalk - this is just about the best United video I've seen! Stunning!!!

  • No good when you have the most miserable... unattentive crew! UAL is one BAD airline!

  • I'd say American is much worse!

  • well my favs are SWA and UAL they are the best in my openion

  • What's the name of the song?

  • It's called Rhapsody in Blue

  • So did they just remodle the plains?

  • Is it Tokyo Narita or HK ?

  • I think it's actually in Korea. I heard United gets some of its 747's serviced there.

  • Yep to both citys from SFO ORD or IAD

  • What do they do with the old seats?

  • they sell them to other cheap airlines i guess

  • If on ly they would put screens in econemy class like so many airlines have. It's a basic standered on long haul flights for good airlines. Still the first and buisness looks nice

  • man just imagine if they put them seats in economy seating!!!!

  • Actually, I am working on a product development product. How would you feel if you could sit in a seat equivelant to the Virgin Atlantic upper class seat (the only catch being that they would be staggered, one on top of the next, so half of the passengers have to climb up to a ledge about 1.5m high, where their seat would be. There would, of course be no overheads, they would go imbetween the two levels

  • Yea but if they did that it would cost $10,000 to fly anywhere

  • At the urging of my guitar, (who was fearful for it's life) I no longer fly United.

  • I don't see any guitar storage in the plan upgrade... I think they failed at making a useful plane...

    ;-)

  • What's the problem with "United breaks guitars"?

  • How could I enjoy such a new TV if I had to worry about my guitar meanwhile? :)

  • as a frequent flyer with UAL I wish they (and all other airlines) woud do some inprovenent in the main cabin also. Service and seating there gets worse by the day

  • I agree Steerage Class sucks.

  • I would travel United, but I would need to bring a cello with me and I bet those oafs in luggage wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and and guitar... and after all, everybody knows that UNITED BREAKS GUITARS!

  • UNITED BREAKS GUITARS

  • Is it true that United Breaks Guitars?????

  • I like how the one guy is wearing a hard-hat. Like he is afraid of a random thrown guitar hitting him in the head! LOL
