  • you can reverse it

  • I think Heart Disease is do to processed foods. Fast foods because of the high temp vegetable oils they use with become free radicals and hense will lead to heart disease.

  • Very Good Video

  • Good video, but I have a question.

Currently I am eating a high fat/Protein diet.

In all honestly I probably eat too much saturated fat because I eat 4 scrambled eggs everyday, and some Mayo with my chicken or beef for the remainder of the day.

But recently I've started incorporated antioxidant fruits like Blueberries,Apples etc into my 3 meals everyday.

I know that these have carbs, but they are all of the natural kind.

Does this still do more harm than good?

  • haha dont tel me about heart disease cuz ive ben livin wit it for 17 yers

  • no mention of the DASH diet Dr? It has also been proven to prevent heart disease and it seems easier to stay on than a low carb diet.

  • hang on!how do you reduced the saturated fat if your on the Atkins?

  • Fish, chicken, olive oil, nuts. No one said you should eat a lot of saturated fat.....BUT!......there is no correlation between saturated fat and a LOW CARB diet and heart disease. If you still have unwarranted fears, eat less of them and more of what I mentioned.

  • Reducing your saturated fat is the ultimate goal. The best way is to match a ratio of good fat with bad fat. Fish Oil has a lot of Omega-3. Eskimos eat a lot of fish. They live longer due to the high Omega-3 in there blood (HDL). Atkins is high protein, not lots of meat. Everything in moderation.

  • No, Atkins is hight fat... not high protein.

  • I have already suffered 2 heart attack & have what my phsyican calls dangerously high triglycerides & LDL, and i was told that if i do not get these levels under control i will have another. This did frighten me and i knew i needed to do something to reverse this damage. I knew plant sterols were powerful so i tried Sterolyn, and i'm very proud to say that my triglycerides have gone from 512 all the way down to 155. LDL count down from 240 to 132. Great product.

  • You are very informed Dr.

    Thank you.

  • heart disease,is killing 17 million human every year.

scientists are trying hard to do something but it takes time and not enough.

  • I also get pains in my arms and legs but they are very brief. My left part of my chest and my heart sometimes hurts like... I sometimes get a pain in my heart area but if i dont breath it doesnt hurt. All these pains are very temporary however.

  • hey i am a smoker. Im 20 and ive been smoking weed laced with a little bit of cigerettes for like 6 years now. I dont really smoke ciggerettes (although i did for about 3 months). Im not overweight but i eat a lot of fast food. I often get chest pains. Does this mean i may have heart desies?!

  • Yes, you have a HIGH chance of getting heart disease. You're living such a DANGEROUS life-style, smoking and eattng fast food are the BIGGEST KILLERS in America. You're still so young, why not take better care of your body. I feel SORRY for people who dont appreciate life! If you get heart problem already at your age, DAMM that's a bummer. If I were you, I would stop smoking. SAVE your MONEY for something more valuable in life.

  • thx for this

  • Okay, thank you very much

  • Oh tyvm, wad are mono unsaturated fats, sry im nt a bio kinda person, can give me like real life examples of what should a heart deseased person eat? and wad kind of food exactly contains trans and saturated fats? sorry for my ignorance

  • Please Google for all that info. You are asking me to write a large response for which there is no room here. Download one of my free reports.

  • Sorry im kinda confused, so we should eat normal trans fats and less saturated fats? and about the carb intake, i'm an asian, does it just mean that I eat less rice?

  • No trans fats at all, minimal saturated fats and lots of mono unsaturated fats. Decrease carbs...that may mean less rice...depending on your total carb intake.

  • Sorry im kinda confused, so we should eat normal trans fats and less saturated fats? and about the carb intake, i'm an asian, does it just mean that I eat less rice?

  • Thanks for posting your video. Have you read these articles yet?

"Chen T, et al. The Lancet 2006;367:958"

and "Shah P, et al NEJM 2006;354(1):97-8"

Do you have any remarks regarding the increased ketoacidosis risk that ensues from burning fat as a primary energy source? There were some life-threatening case reports of such with Atkins..

    Thanks

  • Actually, they were proven to be misleading and this has been discussed for a couple of decades now by those without a full understanding.

Diabetic ketoacidosis should not be confused with dietary ketosis. DKA has to do with a lack of insulin and can be dangerous for Type 1 or 2 diabetics.

Dietary ketosis is a condition achieved with the voluntary restriction of carbohydrates and carries with it no risk....as long as it's temporary.

  • i hate u, you are retarrded.

  • Your stupid, fat has everything to do with heart disease.

  • Please forward to me the study where the participants ate only fat and had high levels of heart disease.

  • so what is it? can cholesterol cause heart disease? you are confusing the people who watches this video! (asktheholisticdoctor,

    PeoplesChemist , Razwell)

  • No confusion. Cholesterol does not cause heart disease by itself. People who eat too many carbs and also eat any fat and cholesterol that they wish...the average American diet, will have problems.

  • Hey Doctor

Are YOU aware that saturated fat restriction HAS REPEATEDLY FAILED to lower CHD or total mnortality in clinical dietary intervention trials

YOUR SATURATED FAT BASHING HAS ZERO SCIENTIFIC BASIS

    COLPO RUNS CIRCLES AROUND YOU

  • Stop before I block your comments. I am not against fat of any kind. I don't know where you get that idea. We agree, fat does not cause heart disease. Now please go away.

  • What do these diets do to circulating endothelial cells?

  • When is it nessasary to get a tress test?and what does it consist of,i now get chest discomfort with light exersise shortness of breath and a weekness in left arm, returns to normal when activity stops

  • I can't really reply to a question like that. Please contact your doctor about these issues.

  • Dont let those dummies get under your skin doc, some of us watch and learn

  • What in the world are you guys looking at? Have you actually seen my video? I do not suggest in it that fat and cholesterol cause heart disease. I am a huge fat fan and blame heart disease on the excess of carbohydrate (sugar) consumption. Stop bothering me and my viewers with this mis-interpretation of my advice.

I AGREE: FAT AND CHOLESTEROL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HEART DISEASE!

Watch the video and stop proving you didn't.

  • High saturated fat intake has a LOT to do with Heart Disease and Cardiovascular Disease. For you to say it has nothing to do with HD is absolutley FALSE. You are contradicting what you say in your video. Talk to any Dietitian. Didn't the creator of the Atkins diet die of a heart attack?

  • I'm with Razwell, this video promotes nothing more than the standard garbble that fat and cholesterol cause heart disease. This video qualifies for my People's Chemist Stinky Sulfur Award...And shame on you for having to use que cards to simply regurgitate a Big Pharma script.

Cholesterol will never be the cause of heart disease. Read "The Hidden Truth about Cholesterol Lowering Drugs."

Do your homework before you get on your soap box.

  • Razwell...this is the 3rd comment you have left on 2 separate videos of mine and the second time you have resorted to name calling. I agree with you that the common wisdom about treating high cholestrol with drugs has not worked. It is because drugs mask symptoms, they don't address the cause of why the cholesterol is high.

Drugs are unecessary if you attack this problem with diet. Coronary heart disease has not come down because there are not enough people addressing the issue through diet.

  • You DOLT

The Lipid Hypothesis is DISproven. 40 years worth of cholesterol lowering has NOT lowered the age adjusted incidence of coronary heart disease ONE IOTA
